Yes I meant the score. Not the garbage narrative.

Yeah, I don’t remember the scene anymore, but I remember when Rey’s theme came on, it really slammed home for me in that moment.

The pan pipes or flute that start the arrangement bring to mind when we meet her scavenging at the outset.

I love pan pipes. So eerie.

Saw this on Christmas afternoon. I’ve been pondering it since then.

Overall not bad, but I don’t think it will hold up the way the original trilogy does.

And WAY WAY WAY too many callbacks. The fan servicing might as well be a brothel.

I literally facepalmed at two moments. The celebration being every 42 years, and the medal for Chewie.

What was that a callback to?

The fact that A New Hope came out 42 years ago.

EDIT: I assume this is the intent. I have no evidence that this is the case other than it is JJ ‘callback’ Abrams, and the timeline fits.

Shit, I thought it was a Hitchhikers reference.

Maybe it’s a Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy reference?

Don’t panic.

I mean I thought of the same as well. Really it is as likely that played a role in why they chose that over, say, 36.

If you are making that type of callback and you have the chance to go for the double nerd nostalgia? Why not.

It was also 42 years since The Holiday Special. “Life Day”.

The Mandalorian thread reminded me of another gripe I had: why the he’ll do stormtroopers bother wearing armor? Every shot the rebels take at them, regardless of weapon, goes right through their armor and kills them. Even their OWN weapons, used against them, always blast right through the armor and kill in one shot.

Is the Empire using lowest-bid defense contractors?

Flying debris, you know, like how helmets don’t actually protect you from direct shots in reality, or at least they didn’t in wars.

I finally watched this the other day. It’s REALLY bad. Like there is bad, so bad it’s funny, so bad it’s no longer funny, and then so bad it wasn’t funny for a while but now fuck it it’s funny again. It was category 4.

And I like Harvey Korman.

Dude, their armor doesn’t protect them from rocks, clubs, spears or arrows.

But at least it costs them a ton of mobility and field of view.

I’d say it’s like medieval full plate, but that would stop the above mentioned weapons almost completely, so it’s actually worse than that.

and as long as we’ve invoked the Holiday Special:

You should spoiler those weird eyes to spare the rest of us from that horror.

Dude, that video is the whole movie plot (what there is of it), you should say that clearly.
