So with the news it may finally be playable on PC I grabbed Jedi Survivor this weekend and tried it out. And the verdict is… It’s playable on my PC. I’m currently in the first open world, and I haven’t (yet) noticed any stuttering or huge drops in frame-rate or anything. The game looks pretty good, but I’m not pushing it beyond 1080p. I did have the game completely freeze up on me once, but it did not repeat once I got back to the same spot in the game. So clearly the devs are actually making progress on the performance front.
My question, for those who have played the game, is it better to follow the story path to the end and then go back and do exploration, or mess about and do what can on whatever planet you’re on until all you’re left with are doors you can’t get past and then progress the story? I seem to vaguely recall the first game gave you an ability fairly late in the story that made exploration way, way easier and don’t want to repeat that.
I would just go with your gut - explore Koboh for as long as it feels fresh. It’s pretty big. I don’t remember any ‘gotchas’ about getting abilities but you will need quite a few new ones before Koboh is completely open to you. You’ll be back plenty of times when following the plot in any case.
“After careful thought and consideration, Stig Asmussen has decided to leave Respawn to pursue other adventures, and we wish him the best of luck,” an EA spokesperson said in a statement. “Veteran Respawn leaders will be stepping up to guide the team as they continue their work on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor .”
I’m sure this was assumed by pretty much everyone, but probably worth noting the verification a new entry is still coming, even without the director of the first two.
Just started playing this on my Series X and it is already the buggiest game I’ve ever played on the console. I had a bug where I couldn’t switch stances (was fixed for now by closing to the main menu and reloading) and also crashed 3 times just changing from the galaxy to planet map in the menu using the left and right bumpers. Anyone else experience problems on Series X?
I had no trouble switching stances or crashes on the Series X. But I only played at launch and was on the planet where they finally let you loose in a big open area. I was exploring that open area, and then got distracted by other games that were released. I need to get back.
Yeah, quality mode was how I played on Xbox, I really enjoyed the game and didn’t experience any frame problems and, luckily enough, few bugs. Really great game.
I might just be spoiled with 60fps, that 30 just doesnt cut it anymore. Plus, this type of game begs for super fluid movement/combat. I don’t even miss the superior quality.
