Its a wonder they havent called you, Teiman, since you have such a clear insight into what is wrong.

These signs are not good. the game may later release and be a success. Signs are just signs.
No one claim a special insight. But anyone can give his opinion about facts and stuff. Thats why we have forums, on the internets.

And you must be in doomsaying business?
edit: damn - beaten by ninja edit :-D
CST isn’t California time either, so neener neener.

Wait it isn’t california standard time?
You do realize that this is the purpose of a massive beta test right, Teiman? To iron out server issues?
The game will succeed or fail on the quality of the design. I would be shocked if it had the same server/launch issues as other mmos.
What time should they have used then? UTC? It is common practice for companies to use the time of the area they are based in. For mmorpgs, this can also be the time the server is located in.
Mmorpgs and video games in general are not world wide. Publishers still partition the world off and focus exclusively on regions.
As noted, the C in CST does not stand for californian.
Servers go down in a stress test. That is kind of the point.

WOW’s launch was a complete mess, and things seem to have worked out for Blizzard ;) I hope and assume that EA is using this test period to sort out as many of the server load issues as they can before they go live.
Got my starship. Killing Rakghouls on Taris like it’s 2004.
Incidentally, to reiterate a minor gripe from before - they really need to work on the music queuing. I’m getting very little music (and, further, mostly the same 1-2 combat tunes, often just for a few seconds.)
Otherwise, less glitchy than last beta weekend.

What level are you when you get your starship?
Wrong. It’s Canadian Standard Time.

Oh man I have been saying it wrong all my life!
Like a lot of getting off of homeworld/getting companion type things it varies a bit depending on whether you’re doing group quests, getting all the bonuses etc. I got it at 17.
This. I’m surprised how good it is for a WoW clone. I’ve played a Sith Inquisitor to level 13 and I’m really enjoying the storyline. The quests almost feel Skyrim-like. Of course, they don’t play that way, but they have the same feel to them.
This is a stretch, but - anyone else getting 2s freezes every 30-45s? Needless to say it’s highly annoying. Doesn’t matter what I’m doing - fighting, making a character, in a cutscene, or looking at my inventory. So I don’t think it’s a hardware issue.
You get your starship when you finish your class quest on the second planet, Dromund Kass or Coruscant, depending on your faction. That’s probably no earlier than 15 (or rather it shouldn’t be, since the planet you go to next is for levels 16 through 20).
I’m not experiencing any periodic character freezes. If you wanted to investigate you could roll a toon on another server and see if it happens there.
Actually, going from the last beta weekend to Skyrim I actually took a few days to really “get into” Skyrim. SWTOR reminds me of Bioware CRPGs, and I like the story-driven and set-dressing-world model a bit better than Bethesda’s “simulated world sandbox which also has stories.” That said, Skyrim eventually clicked.
I keep thinking to myself, “Hmm, I should save here,” based on my usual CRPG saving-instincts. That never happened with other MMOs, and it’s a measure of how much story can distract you from the fact that you’re playing an MMO.

No. That’d alarm me a bit; is your system well-equipped to handle Swtor? I’d try fiddling with settings. Shadows quality can be a real killer. It’s also reputed to be a bit of a CPU rather than GPU hog.
Some of the last content before I got my ship would have been pretty vicious for a level 16, if possible at all.
Is tab targeting not working for anyone else? I’ve tried switching up the keyboard commands but tab just doesn’t seem to do anything for me.
Also, is there a way to turn on enemy health bars permanantly for all enemies? When I start fighting I have to keep targeting each enemy to be able to tell which of them is low on health, so that’s kind of annoying.
Teiman, nobody cares about time zone bullshit. If players like the game and want to play it they’ll put up with pretty much anything. This game could punch you in the face when you log in and they’d be like whatever it’ll get fixed in a patch, get me to the lightsabers.

Tab targeting was working yesterday, but I’m really finding it rough that hitting an ability key doesn’t move to the next target. I have to tab or manually click to keep whalin’ on someone after their buddy drops.

Well considering tab targeting never worked that well in WoW…
So far I’m impressed. I’ve only spent 3 levels with a consular. Waiting to get on a server with a bunch of my guildmates. Damn east coast servers have queues. 20mins or so for this one. Logged right onto a west coast pve server 30mins after they opened up the test.
