Yes, the “lore and flavor” text feels exactly like playing kotor. If you didn’t skip the dialog initially in kotor, you probably won’t here either.

Personally i liked it. I’ve played a TON of mmorpgs and this is the first mmorpg where i’ve never skipped the “quest descriptions.”

They just sent one out and are doing only one more today. That’s pretty stupid.

Why is that stupid?

I’m actually surprised they’re continuing to send them before prime time tonight. Like yeah, your server can handle the X people you’ve sent invites to because most of them are at work now.

A lot of people waiting to get in and frustrated. If they were going to only do 4 waves, announce it.

Honestly, I don’t get that.

Its now 7 days before launch of the game, and they have always been upfront about people getting in based on when they pre-ordered.

Its just a game, we’ll all get into it eventually and in a month bitch about having reached max level already ;-)

Edit: They posted a nice thread about it actually. About them monitoring the servers and letting more people if they see the servers are doing fine. It seems a good way to do it, compared to the previous big MMO’s and how they handled day one of launch.

I’m not sure it’s going out based on when they pre-ordered. Quite a few people are reporting getting in after pre-ordering in August. Could be lies, but doesn’t make people happy.

Some of us don’t care when we get to play, we just want the name we’re going to stick with for the next X years. Delay ME for 6 months but let me have my name.

That’s why you’re supposed to have a friend who preordered on day one reserve all of your names for you. I have the character names on twelve systems.

Well I have the death penalty on 12 systems…

(sorry couldn’t resist)

Yeah, been trying, I don’t really have friends.

I missed the pre-order code part of my Origin pre-order, so I just went through that process. I now have 1) a Bioware account, 2) an integrated Origin/EA account, and 3) a SWTOR account. How they all tie together I have no idea, but compared to Blizzard it’s a tedious process. Origin in particular is an awful site.

I was just signing up for an SWTOR account, and the site broke down for me. Interestingly, it’s showing me a Drupal favicon.

Drupal!? Game over man, game over.

So they have done 3 invites today… out of 4. They posted that it was based on registration date.

And when you check the server list… so many servers are already listed as full (Including the one my 120 member guild selected, with only 8 of them in game so far).

“Uh, boss. I have to go home to check my email. It’s, uh, real important.” bamph

Yup, got in. I even preordered fairly late. Only had time to secure my name before heading back to work though.

The roleplaying community selected mega-RP server is Lord Adraas so anyone looking for the scene should head that way.

When did you order?

July 21st? I think that was late.

That was the day pre-orders opened
