And anecdotaly I’ve had much better luck selling items in Nar Shadda than the main Republic market for whatever reason.

Can we reverse engineer found items? I thought only crafted items could be reverse engineered.

I’m enjoying the crafting system but it is keeping me flat broke, I guess I should sell some of the stuff I make…

The credit cost for fuel is so low I don’t really understand why it’s even a thing.

I’m fairly certain the answer is yes. I’ve made purple versions in every category which is available to me – Color Crystals, Hilts, Enhancements, and Off-Hand Generators/Shields/Focuses.

i joined both the guilds on the harbinger, but i only am avail to play at nights, and the queue is untenable, so i’ve been spending alot of time on alts on other servers - hoping that it fixes itself in next week or two, but i do have to say that i am enjoying the hell out of this game, even with the busy servers…

wow… Taris is a awesome looking planet :-O

Probably because it doubles your potential customers!

Thanks to crafting, I have been unable to pay even a taxi fee on more than one occasion. It hasn’t happened since I hit 20, though.

I hit 25 with 43,000 credits. Amusing.

Of course that doesn’t count the training costs and i didn’t’ train at 24 so i will need a bit more.

Isn’t a speeder about 25K?

Also, I just checked- Harbinger had no queue at 430 PST…I just logged from work thinking a long wait and I got right in.

Speeder is only 8k but the speeder training is 40k.

Ouch!

I really liked Taris. Also there’s a world quest there that all KOTOR players should do. Can’t remember the name though – has something to do with helping a historian out IIRC.

Ah, ok. So having 10K at level 15 is nothing to write home about.

I built my own speeder and saved the money! Not! The underworld trading I had to do to get the materials cost more than 8k. But I guess I had to do it anyway to raise rank in it, so what the heck.

Well, Slicing is pretty OP. I’ve got 84k at level 23 and that’s because I’ve spent a bit leveling Synthweaving. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets nerfed at some point but right now I’d say everyone should have Slicing with either their first or second character. It’s just too good, especially when you need all of that money for crafting, bank space and speeders.

Yeah I’m probably going to drop my mission skill and switch it to slicing until I hit the skill cap on my crafting/gathering skills

I honestly think it will self correct. Raw cash is higher in value now than it will ever be again. Once there are more high level characters the value of a credit will most likely seriously devalue.

There is no question that RIGHT NOW the game is a lot easier if you have that skill though. I advise everyone to take it on at least one character, and if you think they won’t change it any time soon, take in on multiple. Once your mission times get up to half an hour, it’s fairly practical to hit a stable of characters up twice an hour to generate money from thin air. There are a lot of large one time (per character) costs to be paid down right now, not much of a working player economy, and cash is king.

My main question about it would be why it even exists. What role is it filling? Generating raw cash without directly interfacing with the trading economy is a pretty strange thing for a trade skill. It could really just be removed without losing anything of substance.

As was mentioned, money starts coming in faster once you get to the level 20ish planets. For reference, I had a crafter who sent his companions on a lot of missions in beta. He hit 25 with 44K in credits (speeder + training cost 45k then). So I almost made it. I had another character who did no crafting at all. He hit 25 with about 75k in credits. So slicing is not a requisite (though as shown above, it helps).

Well, to take it, you have to give up one of your support skills for crafting. So basically, it’s just a shortcut to credits instead of going through all that crafting nonesense to make mods/weapons/whatever
