Isn’t it more like 22% faster? ;)
(though I suck at math)

I don’t think so because it’s 90% above your base speed. Let’s say your base speed is 100mph, your speed with Speeder One will be 190 mph, with Speeder Two it will be 200mph, and with Speeder Three it will be 210mph.
So Speeder Three is just a smidge over 10% faster than Speeder One.
My brain just exploded ;)
Anyway, not to be pendantic - but I think we’re both right.
Because it IS ~10% faster to get there, but Speeder 3 is 22% faster than Speeder 1.
At least, I hope I can save face like that?!?!? Please!!!
(I realise I was wrong)

If I’m interpreting their numbers correctly Speeder 3 has a 22% higher bonus above base speed than Speeder 1. The reason why that doesn’t turn into a straight 22% speed improvement is because these are improvements to the base speed. You have to include both the bonus and the base speed when calculating the actual speed.
You’re thinking of it as a straight multiplier – “Speeder 1 has 90% of the base speed” – instead of a bonus – “Speeder 1 has a 90% bonus on top of the base speed.” The reason why I don’t think that first explanation is correct (even though it sounds the most straightforward) is because that would actually make Speeder 1 slower than normal walking speed. It would actually be 10% slower than walking. So Speeder 1 being at 90% must mean a bonus of 90% of walking speed tacked on to walking speed itself.
Or I could be totally off as well.
I must have failed to communicate due to my poor humor ;)
I know what you’re saying, and you’re right. I forgot the whole base speed thing when I originally made my comment.
They just said it’s being worked on. That means, it’s not done and ready to go. It could mean they are 99% finished or it could mean that someone typed a memo saying it’s coming.
Fact is, yes it should have been in from the start with the way they planned things. Remember they were in complete control of where guilds went so they had hard numbers of the population to work with. Overcrowded servers are their fault this time, not ours.
It doesn’t matter to me anymore, it’s your problem now. I’ve tried to offer feedback in every way possible but I’m done trying to help them. They can suffer from here on.
At least you’re being rational and objective about the way you articulate your critique.

“Should there be tits in this scene, sir?”
“Jim, that’s a dumb question. At HBO, we strive to create television a cut above the rest.”
“So there should be more tits?”
“All the tits, Jim. All the tits.”
edit:
cartoonish Clone-Wars style graphics
Instant zero interest in game, just because I loathe that cartoon.
Soooo, I can’t log in. Apparently this is because they want me to enter credit card info for the subscription, despite the fact that they tell me I have 27 days of play remaining. Yet I can’t enter my credit card info, because their servers are getting hammered, presumably because they’re requiring everyone to enter subscription info.
Indeed. Bad enough that they require payment info to use your already paid for game time. On top of that they didn’t tell us in advance so we’re all screwed overloading the servers. brilliant.

The grind is gone for me. I am finding a lot of original content and almost no forced grind. I am not entusiastical with the game yet, but i can really see me playing this for about 3 more months. I was wrong about the game, there seems a lot to do and see even if looks like a more limited game. It seems the game has a lot of tricks on his pockets, but is just shy about it.
Note: i have tracked down the weird feeling some people have with the game: is the audio system, you heard your foosteps all the time and with a lot of echo. Thats completelly wong, it tells the brain that you hare in alone in a cave, and create a conflict with what the eyes can see.
Yeah, that bit about requiring a subscription when you have many days left is pretty unreasonable. There is only one reason for that, and that’s to fleece the people who forget to cancel before free time is up.
I know it’s standard practice, but I find it in extremely bad taste.
It doesn’t exactly help that you CAN’T set it up because of server overload.

No he isn’t he is being an arse, his attitude is holier than thou and he speaks with foresight as if it will solve all issues without actually knowing what the issues are. While I agree with what he says it’s the attitude he is saying it with.
Like all MMO’s there are issues at the begining and server levels, populations and queues are not unknown and maybe because it happens so often it isn’t as easy to solve as the know it alls seem to think.
While he may suggest unless he is inside looking out, it’s all supposition not fact and really rather than being rude and having so much attitude and then posting at people with his attitude he could actually add to the thread by just shutting up
Actually, I was being sarcastic :)
I must be VERY bad at communication today.

lol, no it’s me, 5 hours of xmas shopping this morning has driven me to distraction.
Now SWTOR is downloading at 6meg a sec so it’s going quickly but I can’t register my card to start playing atm, you really would think they would have more server space, staff, bandwidth and smaller queues, I mean isn’t this about the 100th MMO release, don’ they ever learn ;D
Can’t …stop…slicing…must resist…pulling me back in…AHHHHHH.
I’m getting tons of blues that relate to other crafting profs, AH here I come.
Can I have your stuff?
I LOLd. Thank goodness they had you around to advise them. Pity they just didn’t listen.
I had no idea. Now the Imperial drops I’ve gotten make a little more sense…

Stop talking about slicing. I am broke and don’t want to turn to the Dark Side of crafting.
Is ibdoomed still here? I think he and his ball have gone home 3 times now. He must live on a hill and the ball heeps rolling back into the thread.
So far I’m enjoying this game quite a bit. It’s WoW with a few new features and set in the Star Wars universe, with Bioware storytelling behind it. Those of you expecting something that defies the genre’s standards are probably disappointed, but for me this hits the spot. Familiar style, different content, that works for me. I will renew my subscription at least for a while (and cancel my second WoW account, so that’s one down for Blizzard).
The one big flaw so far is the lack of a LFG function. I hope that is on their radar, as it will become more pressing once the initial levelling crunch subsides.
Caveat – I’m playing on an east coast server and generally not during prime time hours, so queues have been non-existent for me.
