Why did it take me this long to notice that you could change your crew-skill?

Aw, Teiman, it’s ok. Dark Side doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

EQ2 PvP taunts forced the enemy to target you, though of course not actually attack you. But it would switch their target to the taunter. Very effective and a great mechanic IMO.

that’s how it worked in WoW as well. At least during wotlk when I was pvping a lot with my warrior.

I loved that one too. Awesome storyline.

Eh? I don’t remember taunt ever having any effect on players in PvP. Pets, yes.

Not sure if we played the same game, but I never had that effect. Even a death knight’s death grip didn’t force a change in target.

Happy Life Day!

Wookies are always good. To bad smugglers hog them to themselves. But that’s okay, I have a jawa.

Does anyone know what Grenades are/do? Are they a class-specific item like the Scoundrel’s Shotgun or a Jedi’s Focus/Shield? Do they get consumed?

From a Trooper’s perspective, they are skills like any other. I haven’t seen them outside of that context as a 29 Trooper now/33 Bounty Hunter in beta.

They are non-class specific.
They get consumed.
They’re made by Cybertechs. You do not need to be a Cybertech to use one.
The two types I’ve seen are a fire/dot one and a 4 second stun one.
The range on them is shorter than Mortar Strike/Death From Above. I’d guess 10m.
They have a 5 minute cooldown which is shared between all types.

I made 5 of each of the first two types you get, but honestly, the cooldown is so long I always forget about them. So I don’t find them terribly useful. Perhaps my opinion will change as I use them more and/or get different types.

consumable on a 5 minute timer

Thanks guys.

they make a decent emergency item imo

Yeah, unless you already have 4 kinds of grenades and 3 emergency things, all with animations and timers and crap. I have too many powers to manage already, much less to add random new combat item expendables :)

One thing I’ve found is that the Hutt market seems very good for getting early relics, since it seems like the Empire market has only Light-side relics that people are selling as surplus. I found a Republic guy selling Dark-side relics on the Hutt market, so I assume that faction has the same issue.

So far, Slicing gives me massive amounts of credits that I can use to buy the best of everything that other players are making. Inflation is inevitable, but for now this is the nuts.

Oh, that’s a cross-faction market? I’ll have to take a look, then. Because, yes, Slicing is making me significant money and I haven’t really been spending it on anything.

After playing for what was probably 30 hours during the Beta Test weekend, I can safely say I will not be buying this game.

Although captivating at first, the game quickly loses its charm due to the boring combat system. Boring to the point where I stopped bothering to shoot at weak enemies and just let my companion take care of them. Combat basically consists of selecting a target and going through your skill rotation. There’s no dodging or cover involved.

While exploring was fun and the story interesting, I just don’t see how I could ignore the flaws of one of the game’s core mechanics…
