Yeah - I know how you feel though, but has been a pretty good launch overall :-)

The UI stuff drives me nuts. Then again, it’s not like BioWare is the first or only developer to task two engineers and an artist with “oh fuck we need a UI” for two weeks before the beta milestone. Sigh.

Well, the current change to slicing makes it fairly worthless. I thought that Bioware was just reporting the stealth nerf. You can likely make more selling underworld metals than wasting thirty minutes on a 10% chance for a green box netting 1k.

If you mean selling Underworld metals in the AH, I think that’s unknown. At this point we should assume that all AH prices, and particulary those for Crafting Mats from Missions are overpriced due to Slicers flush with cash.

Given the massive warchests amassed by some slicers (I’ve seen folks on Penny Arcade with reportedly 500,000 credits) it’s going to take the market a while to readjust and for us to see how much everything is now worth.

There are people claiming figures of 1-2m credits in slicing nerf threads on the official forums. I am only level 15 (Sith Assassin) and took the skill purely based on the gossip about it here. I raised it to 130-ish, got to level 17-24 range and was barely making money. Not sure what to do with it now. It’s taking up the third slot I would otherwise give to Treasure Hunting, which would close the loop with Artifice and Archaeology for Saber upgrades to use and sell.

FWIW you can actually get some pretty cool gear using Treasure Hunting Lockbox missions in addition to getting Gemstones for Artificing.

I had over 250,000 credits left after buying my Mount + Skill at level 25 from Slicing. I only grabbed the skill because I heard about how easy it was to make money (and it was) – I imagine I will drop it when I get home from work and grab Underworld Trading so I can finally work on my Armormech skill.

Companion Gifts selling for the win !
Rank 5 gifts net me a clean 4-5k at this point and a mission costs me 700+ credits.

That’s weird because the rank 4 missions are all 800 ish.

They vary for me, some cost more, some less. I mostly choose the cheapest ones.

I can’t seem to get Stasis Mastery to work, or else I’m misunderstanding what it’s supposed to do. Here’s the description:

Force Stasis no longer needs to be channeled, applying its full effect over 3 seconds.

So Force Stasis is basically the Jedi equivalent of Force Choke. Pre-“Stasis Mastery” I would grab somebody and hold them for several seconds while my companion or adventuring partners beat on them. While holding them I would see the Channeling Bar which counted down until the Stasis was over.

I thought Stasis Mastery would allow me to put them in Stasis and do other stuff while they stayed in Stasis. What’s happening is as soon as I do something like try to hit them while they are in Stasis they break out of Stasis. So I’m not really sure what Stasis Mastery is buying me. I haven’t tried it in a multi-opponent situation where I might put one enemy in stasis and attack a neighbor, but the stasis effect usually only lasts for 3-4 seconds anyway, so I don’t know if that would be worth it.

Am I misunderstanding how Stasis Mastery is supposed to work? Have any of you higher level Jedi’s had any luck with it?

Are you selling them on the Auction House? I’m kind of surprised the speculation pre-release that I saw was that no one would buy them.

I can see how they could be helpful if you were constantly going against your companion’s wishes in conversations, or if you wanted to max out the affection of your non-regular travel companion in order to benefit from improved crew skills from high affection.

Only been playing for a short while. So far I’m really enjoying my Jedi Knight. Just got my light saber and I really felt like I accomplished something. Yeah I know. The funny thing is that my Jedi Knight was my first character and I completely screwed up. Without spoiling anything (hopefully) I had forgotten to see a trainer from level 3 to level 7. So one mission boss kept killing my ass. Then I leveled up again and I was hoping that leveling up would give me a new ability to help taking him down.

So when I hit the trainer I saw like 6 or 7 new abilities. Major face palm time.

The bounty hunter arc is pretty cool as well.

My wife cannot log in this evening. Says her pw is incorrect. She has an authenticator. She can log into the SWTOR account web page, but not the game client. Tried it from my pc, same problem.

Epic.

re-downloaded ‘english assets 1’ 3 times now, it fails ‘unable to retrieve patch data’ at 2.96mb out of 4.8gb.

I don’t know what the fuck is wrong, it failed a 4th time at 2.96mb left. Can I get my money back?

This is why I didn’t really understand why they created slicing. I always thought that one of the primary purposes of crafting is to serve as a time sink, and slicing? Slicing doesn’t do that. At all.

After i sorted my disconnect problem with offing the fire wall, the problem arrised a new… this time i get disco´s either if i get my firewall off or on… Damn!

The morality system in this game is awful. Killing some force users: Dark side. Turning the force user to the dark side, and having them kill their own master: Light side.

Fuck you BW. Fuck you.

The only way to avoid light side points in some conversations is to go full retard. It’s irksome…

So I have my Jedi Consular in the Republic guild I also spent a little time playing a smuggler. While the servers seem to be full, does it look like Bioware made every class viable throughout the game? Specifically all I seem to here is that you need to be tank or healer for teamfights, and that is it.

Pretty much, yes. Unless it’s a Heroic/Flashpoint quest or you’re severely underleveled, you should be able to handle the entirety of your class quests solo. As long as you’re remembering to upgrade your companions’ gear periodically it shouldn’t be a problem. I’m DPS Sniper and have breezed through the core story so far.
