How is this “problem” any different from the way it works in every single other of the kazillion MMORPGs out there?

This would be a better troll if you didn’t include the word “stupid”.
In case you’re not trolling, the lack of cross-zone LFG searching is a major problem. This is something EQ had in some form circa 2002 (oh, /who all enchanter 55 59, I remember you well).
I just ran a hutball on my level 12, and made a decent contribution because the enemy couldn’t resist killing me, no matter what other relevant targets were present. They’d prioritize me even over a ball handler. I could basically peel people off the runner just by showing up.
I have no crowd control, no slow, no interrupt, no knockback, NOTHING. I present no threat and no value…yet still people will switch to kill me in order to “pwn”
I think a lot of people don’t even realize there is a ball in the first place.
This battleground is laughably too complicated for randoms.

there is no point of attempting to win any warzone once you done your weekly and daily, because the difference between winning and losing is so minimum, I just attempt to get as many medal as possible which doesn’t involve any type of war zone mechanic.
highest so far is 9 medal, I lost that hutta ball yet I end up with more reward than all of the winning team with their average 5 medals.
so if you try to pass the ball to someone who hasn’t jump down from the starting platform in hutta ball, they DIE instantly. in the last game where we were like 5-0 for 10 minutes, we decided to spawn camp their entrance, and out of boredom, our ball carrier pass the ball to enemy team while they were still on the ledge, “BAM” instant death, and ball pass back to the ball carrier again. it was fucking hilarious.
Those customer service messages seem pretty bogus, but they do remind me of the EQ mentality from back in the, well, EQ days. Sony would indeed ban or otherwise sanction people for doing things that were mechanically allowed by the game, but which contradicted Brad McQuaid’s concept of how the game should be played. Their attitude was pretty much that you should play the game they designed, their way, or get out. That generally hasn’t been the case in subsequent MMOs, where the usual pattern is to fix the exploit, warn players, and then only discipline people if they try to work around the mechanical constraints.

Most mmos have different zones for your level, so you have freedom about where to level or how level. Even MMO’s of the same subtype of SWTOR allow a wider range of levesl betwen you and the mobs. So players of level 41 can kill mobs of level 48.
I don’t mean that theres a unique way to build this subtype of mmos. Maybe the design of swtor works, so its ok how is designed. The wrong thing is tryiing to force players to ignore the weakness of the system. Is like a voice saying “Play the most inneficient and slow way, and don’t take any shortcut, or else…”. I hate mmorpg because often are built with integrated “Fun Police” that make sure any way to game the system is stopped on his tracks.
Sorry about the use of “stupid”. I was tryiing to understand why people don’t use it more. Your reasoning as a flaw: people on different planets may be less likelly to join a group to kill mobs in the planet you are.
I support the idea to make LFG easier.
My sith warrior was able to do finish the 32ishish class quest line at 28 in order to get a certain companion earlier, culminating in a fight against a 32 elite boss, so it is certainly possible to fight against enemies above your level.
Yeah, I took on two 35 elite bosses with my 32 sorcerer. I died a few times, but I did it. I convinced myself I wasn’t going to do anymore questing until I had the companion that came from it. :D
I’m not remotely worked up by this, but my first thought was also of Verant and The Vision™. After a decade or so of over-entitled MMO communities more or less dictating play one almost sympathizes. But there is a reason The Vision™ figures into every 25-word explanation of why WoW killed EQ.

Can I get some help on purchasing this game? I don’t want/need a physical copy, normally I’d buy something like this through Steam. I tried Origin, but EA sat on my money for a while and then rejected the order as fraud (funny thing is I had a friend also try through Origin with the same result).
So, I’d like to avoid purchasing through Origin. If I buy the game on Amazon or some place, can I just get a key to activate the game with? I’m really just looking for a key to start playing today, I don’t want a boxed copy shipped to me.
Amazon isn’t selling digital versions, so you’d have to wait for the physical copy to arrive. Beyond that, I’m not sure where else you could go outside of Origin that offers digital versions. Unless you want to try your hand at one of the digital key sellers like onlinekeystore (which I have no problem with, but some might).
What exactly do you mean when you say they sat on your money for a while? I bought my game through Origin and the purchase went through immediately.

Yeah, I absolutely adore how the incentives for the warzones are based around pwning rather than winning the map. Every single one of them is basically Team Deathmatch because of this. It’s absolutely idiotic design, plain and simple. They couldn’t be bothered to come up with a way to track and reward players for accomplishing objectives and the rewards all come from generic Damage-Dealt/Kill-Streak accomplishments.
It’s like the Acheivements they’d put into TF2 when that was the only way to unlock the new items. They were terrible ideas because you’d have a quarter of the people on each team trying to land taunt-kills or trying to kill Heavies with shotguns or crap like that. It made the actual game a joke until people finished them (thanks in part to “Achievement Servers” which at least moved the idiocy to a quarantined location). Bioware has taken this to a new level by resetting the Acheivements EVERY SINGLE MATCH.
They really ought to do away with those medals in the first place. They aren’t that hard to acheive and all they do is reward selfish, bad play, which attracts the average MMORPG player like moths to a welding torch.
I finished my light side/dark side point test today by running diplomatic missions to 10000 light side points (max). Once you hit the light side point cap, any additional light side points gained start reducing your dark side points. So basically, don’t worry about gaining opposite side points and just play. They won’t have a permanent effect, although in the short term, levels will be a little harder to get.
Again, the DDO model works well. Shows you everyone on the server with level and location, you can filter by level and class, and it shows LFG and more importantly LFM status, along with comments.
If you don’t want a WoW-type LFG system (and I can see the arguments, even if I’m dubious) then it’s the minimum.
Don’t even get me started about the idiocy of a modern “UI” where you can only do some things (ANYTHING) via a /slash command.

They should’ve just allowed the LS cap to keep rising rather than erasing opposite points. Granted its not an issue for me because I’m not racing towards a cap anyway, but it seems needless.
Perhaps I’m misunderstanding, but you can do some of those things in TOR’s Who window. If you type “23 25” in the search field, it will show you people within that level range in different zones. If you type “23 25 LFG”, it will show people in that level range with their LFG flag enabled. You can also add throw in class name keywords, as well. Don’t take this post to mean that I think it’s a great interface or anything, though. :)

it shows people that’s 23 and 25…
Maybe use 23-25? I’m sure I’ve gotten ranges before.
