oh jeez, come on, you know the fucking emperor is a raid boss.

No, I didnt - thanks for that…

They currently have a problem with bonus elements of certain quests not disappearing from the quest tracker if you do not complete them but do complete the parent quest.

I didn’t have this problem for most of the game, as I have tried to complete all of the bonus quests. However, on Belsavis there was one that I distinctly remember completing along with the storyline, only to get back online the next day to find that it was still listed as incomplete, could not be cancelled / abandoned (or reset), and the parent quest was still finished properly.

They say they are aware of the bug, but I have no idea when it will be fixed. I guess I’m glad that I’m not one of those people that keeps their quest listing packed full of unfinished quests and heroics.

I actually don’t know if the emperor is a raid boss or not. I was being sarcastic in that the faction leaders are almost always guaranteed to be raid bosses in MMOs.

Oh, I didn’t realize that was a bug, it happens to me all the time. I thought it was “tough luck sucker, you failed to complete the bonus objectives before going through that green door”.

This is a pretty rare bug but after hitting it a couple times way to 36, i made it a point to ALWAYS do bonus quests first.

“Sarcastic” is an overly generous characterization of your response to the criticism that you posted spoiler information. Perhaps “pathetic” was the concept you were looking for? Yet another gamer doode who promotes himself to the “Ignore” list.

You’re reading a thread about an MMO…you’re going to see “spoilers”…

Id say you are in the minority about allowing spoilers on the stories in an MMO based on stories, but hey, what do I know - you could be right and being a jackass is fine.

And hey, in 213 pages, it hasnt been a problem yet

Yeeeah…a “gamer doode”…right. I edited it immediately after, you crybaby. The emperor is only the penultimate villain of the SW setting.

Are you claiming that people posting here are irresponsible and/or arsehats? Sigh… I guess I can find new forums to post on.

I’m claiming that expecting otherwise is not realistic in a thread like this, even here, and that the level of antagonism in response to a very minor spoiler is rather over the top.

I am your father!

ANyway, it seems highly likely the emperor is or will be a raid boss at some point in the future. He is the big main evil. He is the neph (or whatever that dragon who was onyxia’s parent was in wow) in the early days of wow when there was nothing higher.

The kotor 1 -> mmorpg transition books all point to some destined fight between player and emperor. It may or may not end up actually happening, but those books are clearly designed for the sole purpose of setting up swtor so it seems highly unlikely they would foreshadow such a confrontation so much without any pay off. Possible, but highly unlikely.

I know it’s a page ago, but yes. I have had this happen. Hehehe.

The thing is the game really doesn’t give out a lot of information about these “mysterious” important game figures until the late-30s and higher (and even then is sparing with it.)

That being the case I think people would rather there not be spoilers/“guesses at what will happen.” I know in <TRN> guildchat a new player “guessed” a story development and it so happened that he was exactly right, the result being an infuriated spoiler argument and of course he himself didn’t even think he’d done anything since, obviously, no one told him he guessed right.

So if people want to talk about [redacted] and the [redacted]over the galactic menace of [redacted], start a plot/spoiler thread.

It’s like saying “Ohhh nooo, don’t spoil the fact that you have to go kill VanCleef.”

Not only are you rude, but you’re going to tout publicly that you ignored somebody? Classy.

So wait, is the Emperor a bad guy for the Sith, too? That doesn’t make much sense, but I haven’t played my Imperial character yet. Raid bosses have to be equally hated by both sides unless Bioware is making different raids for each faction, which would be pretty crazy.

I feel like I’m reading Barrens chat all of the sudden…

Anyway, anyone have a source that describes the plans for the Legacy system in the future? I’m been looking around and found some interviews, but they are all so vague. “Cool stuff” and “It will give you a reason to start alts and carry on your family legacy”. Trying to find out what that would consist of. Will it be like WoW guild levels where you unlock items and skills that make leveling faster/easier? Will it just be different hair-styles and body types?

I “dinged” level 3 in my legacy last night and, at the moment, that means nothing to me. Wondering if it’s something to be happy about for the future or just start ignoring that little purple bar under my experience.

Vague is all I’ve been able to find on that as well, JFrazer.

In terms of solid news about upcoming features, they’re looking at making raid and PVP fully moddable, including set bonuses so you can take those stats over to any orange item. I like that, although I still content that they’re building the worlds most complicated solution to an appearance tab.
