Well, for a beta I think you’d be better off with critical people than a bunch of fanbois saying “They’ll fix this for release, do not worry”, as has always been the norm in any beta I have been in.

It’s not. People still care about Star Wars.

it’s hard to manage your expectation when your expectation sunk every time a new gameplay video comes out.

George Lucas doesn’t.

I hope to god there’s a “NOOOOOOOO!!!” emote in this game.

And they never fix the initiative bugs, so it’s always impossible to tell who shoots first.

Somehow greedo always shoots first when you fight him, though.

I would say he cares a great deal about the franchise that keeps him independently wealthy and free of the studio system and will continue to do so for the rest of his life. Whatever he does to the movies doesn’t matter as long as people keep paying money for them. At this point I’m pretty sure he’s trolling on a culturally unprecedented scale.

I don’t think Lucas needs Star Wars to stay independently wealthy at this point. I don’t think he’s trolling. That’s giving him too much credit. I just think he’s become isolated by success and building a company based around himself.

Of course Blackadar wasn’t really serious about Lucas not caring. What he really meant was the way Lucas handles the franchise is tantamount to not caring.

And since Lucas does care, the awfulness of the past three movies has to be attributed to something else.

I would attribute it to his lack of writing ability and hatred of directing actors. The man needed to delegate and he didn’t.

And to those who think Lucas is not at least partially trolling the fanbase, I say: Bullshit.

I signed up for beta day one, put some non stupid post on the forum, bought and registered the stupid $150 CE, and joined a guild, and still no invite to the Beta or test weekend. Souring by the day on general principle.

Sorry, sir. But I won. (?)

Holy shit, I never thought about it like that…that asshole!

/golfclap (?)

Sounds like ‘very soon’ is bs:

It’s a beta. The Blaine Christian thing is the sort of dramedy best left for the denizens of the official forums.

Checked that link, checked my email, cried a little.

I also wouldn’t say that everyone who signed up is getting in ‘very soon’; I would say ‘before launch’, though.

I would like to get in before the launch, even just for a few days would make me happy. I just want to see if it is my kind of game before I take the plunge. It’s not about money, just that if I play an MMO, it’s usually with the intention of being there for at least a year otherwise, I am going to enjoy non-MMO games instead.

Or…wait a couple weeks, watch gameplay vids, read reviews, you’ll know for sure.

Just spend about 1 and half hours watching my roommate playing an imperial agent, he looks likes the most useless class at lvl 10 in a flashpoint(instanced mission I guess, black talon or something).

one of the boss fight was Admiral Ackbar with a 2handed sword. the AI pathing on that fight was retarded, I told him to get aggro and then jump up and down on a platform which cause the boss to take the long route to get to him, boss doesn’t have range attack, so they basically cheesed the fight with almost 0 damage taken.

then they fought a twi’lek padawan. basic strategy similar to WoW, when she is charging up AOE, run away, then run back close to her in order to avoid her super jump attack.

There are some really fucked up faces in SWTOR. That imperial commander outside blahblahblah-kass spaceport is like a 20 year old white male sporting a super long fu-manchu.

they need to add more ways to instant travel in a city because running is slow as hell in the game.

the only really unique thing I saw in the game is that your companion can sell your junk for you similar to the torchlight pets.
