regarding the Admiral Ackbar fight.
“It was a trap!!!”
basically group walks into an empty room, suddenly a bunch of soldiers floods in and then Ackbar attacks, not sure if it was intentional but it was funny.
Roommate looked for the “Noooooooo!!!” emote but didn’t see it anywhere.
We don’t even have interstellar travel yet, but I don’t see any of our armed forces fighting with swords. It’s just sort of stupid. Grab a rapid fire gun and start shooting. Don’t swing a sword.
No offence, guys, but “WTF swords in a Star Wars game?” What could be next, melee weapons in the Dune universe?
The general complaint among screenshot/video scrutinizers hitherto was an insufficient amount of melee NPCs. It certainly makes sense gameplay wise, whether one is talking KOTOR or SWTOR, and fiction-wise it’s part of the canon, albeit for less well defined reasons than in the Dune universe. (Which could itself be nitpicked.)
Isn’t this game still under NDA?

Pretty sure if Idris wasn’t playing himself, he ain’t covered by the NDA. I dunno, maybe his roommate letting him watch was a violation, but oh well.

I wasn’t playing, I was just watching, I never apply to the beta either so I don’t have to sign any NDA.
So you’re just breaking it on your roomate’s behalf?

No, his roommate broke NDA by letting him watch. Idrisz didn’t do anything wrong. It’s a bummer, though, for those of us who are under NDA and would love to discuss the game, but can’t.

sorry, back from dinner. Yes roommate should lock me out of living room, but he can’t!!
Well, if the NDA is meant to cover up shit like that, its just good that people break it.
I’d be surprised if, this late, much changes before release, so the NDAs only purpose at this point is to ensure a high number of preorders and launch day sales before the reviews hit and people abandon it.

My mind is blown by this picture. Truly he has become a master of evil.
Does the NDA specify that others can’t watch you play? I am genuinely curious.
Regardless, it’s the beta tester’s responsibility and not the roommate’s.
I’m a bit surprised that there is still an NDA in effect if the game is shipping this year. WoW lifted theirs at least six months before ship.

one more thing, SWTOR doesn’t have find a party(queue up for instance like wow/rift) support for group instances, so as of right now, you have manually form a group for instance(flashpoint). I think they allow queuing for PVP stuff though.
P.S. I have my doubts about the lack of party queue for instances because my roommate was complaining about unable to change keybinds, which took me 2 seconds to locate after he try to show me how keybind wasn’t available under Control because keybinding was a main menu tab at bottom of the option/preference screen.

IANAL, but I don’t think they do
It doesn’t have to, either. It specifically states that you cannot “disclose” or “make available” any of the confidential information. Showing it to someone else is exactly what this is supposed to cover.
But I agree, it’s the roommate that is violating the NDA, not idrisz.

You think that’s bad, there are a LOT of mobs who fight with swords, maces, shields, dual swords / daggers. One story boss even fights, i kid you not, a one handed sword and shield! Ok, its an energy shield, but its still a Sword and board boss. His special attacks include Whirlwind and a Shield bash…
Im starting to wish i hadnt pre-ordered at this point, i got sucked in by the hype!

Yes, because THAT’S TOTALLY UNREALISTIC AND WOULD NEVER HAPPEN.
