That’s why I play with groups of friends. I’m still not sold on the 3v3 or 4v4 PUGs. At least with a 2v2, you can sorta of communicate with people and occasionally befriend a new play buddy.
We only had the one game go to such high supply, and that was because the other side had out-micro’d our forces and was harassing our mineral lines with mutas, so I just turtled up at four bases with the Vikings I was starting to mass-produce, and before I knew it I was supply-capped.
We’re technically placed in Silver, but we’ve been playing pretty much exclusively Platinum/Diamond players, so I’m confident we’ll get another promotion soon enough (we’re winning about 4/5 of our games).
We just lost our last game of the night to cheese, though. Cannons… I had some Marauders out, but we were tired, my micro was seriously lacking, my focus on micro fucked up my macro, and they kept harassing me… and I’m pretty much the linchpin of our strategy, building a four-barracks ground army to establish map control and if necessary delay with the bodies of my army until my Zerg partner can get, say, broodlords out to deal with their tanks/whatever.
So we got heavily out-built, for all that we stayed in the game for another 20 minutes or so, and even took a few expansions and blew up a base or two. Eventually they managed to slip a dozen void rays past us into our bases, intercepted our Protoss player’s army of stalkers with their army of Stalkers, and I couldn’t get my Vikings onto the Void Rays in anything near enough time, plus the Dark Templars were messing with us and it was 0030 in the morning.
grins God, I ramble this late. Anyway, I’ve been having tons of fun with 3v3 and 2v2 after meeting this friend of a friend I’ve been playing with (he’s very good, easily Diamond player).

It’s also hilarious to vortex a significant portion of the combined food cap armies of three or four players.

Time it right, and you can nuke all of them once they get out of Vortex.

Nuke them twice. It’s the only way to be sure.
The TvZ matches between the 13 year old MaruPrime & the 26 year old CellaWeRRa today were amazing. Some really creative Terran play. The 2nd and 3rd matches in particular were epic back and forths.

You’ve have to buy the ticket to watch GomTV’s VODs :(
Wha…? Man, I am not hardcore enough to buy tickets to Starcraft replays.

You can watch the first match of all the games for free, you still need to create an account though
While good, the first match is still the least interesting.
If you scroll down a bit in the comments section, you will see instructions on how to view the other two matches in the set for free.
To be fair though, I don’t think its unreasonable to pay $20 to watch 60+ professionally commentated best of 3 matches. I just wish the on demand vids were in high quality since I’m not going to get up at 6am to watch the HQ streams.

I got a few links for that match, but it’s korean casting though, no reg required.

The VODs are the same quality as the HQ stream or if theres any difference I can see it. I think they really underestimated how popular the tournament would be, the streams are always overloaded, the HQ stream seems to lack the proper bandwidth and constantly stutters, etc. These games at around 6pm for me, I don’t think I’d bother with the live streams otherwise.
PIRATE!
Seriously though, the GSL matches are awesome to watch.
I picked this up last night (thanks to it being $20 off at K-Mart!) and boy, what fun. It’s Starcraft with interface improvements and an expansion pack’s worth of new units, which is exactly what I wanted.
Hey guys, not sure where the list of SC2 players is, but please feel free to add me, in game name Calvin, email address adamsensoy at gmail dot com
Does it matter which league it places you in? Somehow I won three of the five qualifying matches, placing me in Silver, and then I proceeded to lose seven games in a row. How do I get demoted?

How do you find people on BattleNet anyway? Is there a way to see profiles of other players outside of Google? I can’t seem to find one.

Badly, if you’re in the UK and trying to add most Qt3 folks. It’s region-locked to the max. Feel free to add me though. I’m on das spreadsheet. I am shit.
You can see your friends profiles by going to battle.net, login, then click your name, then friends on the left, then click any of their names.
The profile links are actually public, e.g.:
But I don’t think you can search for them on battle net. If you want to search for someone, you can go to http://sc2ranks.com/ then click the search tab on the right, then look for their name.
On an unrelated note, a few weeks back someone posted about Day9’s daily videos. I totally didn’t see the appeal at the time, but now that I’ve played more SC2, I kind of love him. He’s got a whole slew of odd little affectations that give him a real nerdy charm. And hey, he gives good advice.
