I suppose because it had so much freedom, I never really got tired of Starfield. Yeah, it was frustrating to see POIs that had the exact same loot and enemies in the exact same places, but somehow I kept finding new “stuff”. I did finally choose to “finish” the game, with a lot of missions still on the board, and I wasn’t sure I would keep going with. NG+1, but now with all the mods I’ve got a LOT more variety in the world, so I am going to play through a second time, with my role playing justification for my companions no longer getting angry when I kill the wrong person and a lot of the new changes like an earth filled with flora and fauna and new missions etc. being that I’m Starborn. But I don’t see more than one more playthrough.
It is a game that I think OK, I don’t like repeating things, but then I start playing and I get caught up in the freedom and find new things to do and new places to explore and next thing I know I’ve played 5 hours and need to get off the PS5.
Star Wars Outlaws in next but I think I’ll wait and see if they patch some of the stealth issues while I play Starfield.
It’s the very definition of a 3 stars out of 5 game in the pages of Computer Games Strategy Plus if the mag was still around IMO. Someone might have given it 3.5 based on being pretty to look at sometimes.
Yeah, that leaked out last week when the new achievements were found. I’ve avoided that list for spoiler reasons, but did see news about the number of locations. If it’s 50+ different planetary locations that will be awesome, but if it includes shops in a city, etc., the number is not as impressive.
I wonder how long it will be until we see extensive wabbajack lists for Starfield, as we do for Skyrim and Fallout 4?
I’ve put this game aside after my first runthrough, which lasted until NG3. I felt completely done with it. I still feel completely done with it. Instead, I am playing two versions of Skyrim (Do Not Go Gentle, Wildlanders), both of which are awesome complete overhauls. I’m not planning to hit Starfield again until similar options appear.
It’s a third party bit of software which allows people to curate and publish their own list of mods (good for games like Skyrim or Fallout 4 where people will use hundreds and then struggle with compatibility issues). If you use it, the software allows you to download and install all those mods with minimal effort.
Note: if you don’t have a premium account with Nexus, you’ll need to manually click for each and every one.
Wabbajack is an app that automates the download and installation of large, curated modlists. It makes installing those massive, 200+ mod overhauls incredibly easy.
So I put together an excel spreadsheet that lists all the systems, planets, resources, fauna, flora, and planetary traits together. I’m going out of town for the weekend, but will put it up on a website Monday. Not charging anything for it, but donations would of course be appreciated for a now-retired game player (my last chance at another full time job fell through - I was only going back to the company that laid me off so I could keep my seniority and all that - I’m not starting over again).
Hopefully, posting this won’t be an issue since it won’t cost any money. But I wanted to get this out there before the DLC dropped so those starting a new game had it. If you’re a surveyor like me, it will hopefully help a lot.
