Bloody hell I am not in the target market for this and I struggle to watch game videos for any length of time usually…but that was on another level. I even watched the credits FFS.
The one he did on path of exile was pretty good too.

Why did he give out his game key to viewers? I’m missing something.
Great review. I actually sat through a 20 minute review. I think that’s a first.
kerzain: It’s a key that’s already been redeemed by him, so it makes no difference if others get it, right?
I want to buy this - it looks fun as hell and it’s only $15? WTF? - but I worry if I don’t have it in a game store like Steam or even EPIC I’ll just forget I own the damn thing when I sit down to play something some weekend (currently I’m full up on games between Fire Emblem and Planetfall and I only just while typing this remembered I own ever expansion for Crusader Kings II as well!). Is this coming to Steam or something eventually? Why isn’t it already there in “Early Access”?
Dude, you’re underselling yourself if you think this video was better than yours. I guess I’m not a fan of this style of over-caffeinated presentation, but don’t change. I mean, do change… get even better, but don’t change.
This was my annual thread check to see if Starsector is finished yet. See you in another 12 months when I will attempt yet again to find the key I bought years ago.
Even I, a student of withstanding craziness not my own, thought that was crazy.
have you tried Playnite? It’s awesome for managing games on multiple services and ones that aren’t on services like Starsector and emulators.
Just add the game to your Steam library.
Thanks @pizzaddict and @NuclearWinter - those are fine solutions. But are there any plans for this to come to a more mainstream audience like Steam users at some point? It won’t sway my (already made) decision to purchase, I’m more or less just curious at this point.
I guess the game will be released on platforms once it’s done. I could swear the author said he didn’t like the idea of putting it on Early Access on Steam.
This kind of videos are popular because they are entertainment by themselves. Even if you aren’t interested in the game. They are peppered with humor, quick pace, the examples he gives about the game itself are also carefully designed to be laughable, he over-represents glitches in games because they are funny, etc.

Wow. Not only am I compelled to buy this game now, I’m now enjoying all of his other reviews. Thanks, guys.
It’s not necessary to explain it to me. I was taking the opportunity to big up Brian’s videos, including his recent Starsector one which is worth watching if you want more depth.
What @Bluddy said!
Can anyone answer this: is this game real “twitchy” and require some good eye/hand skills or is the action more cerebral? My point/click/shoot/dodge days are long past me…
I only hope so for the sake of the game’s success - it seems like a game like this will get lots of coverage from streamers when it goes live and becomes more popular and putting it on Steam makes it trivial for most folks to get a copy of. I’m very excited to get it ASAP but there are a lot of games coming out (and already out) now this second half of the year, so I’ll wait for now. It didn’t sound like it was “coming out 1.0” for quite a while…
Thank you.
It kills me that they are/were selling via BMT Micro. I remember buying VGA Planets from BMT back around 1000 years ago.
I’ve got the website bookmarked watching for the update that includes UI scaling.
From what I’ve watched it would be difficult for me to see much of the text. Their forum has some threads discussing it, no idea if the developer ever intends to address this. But if it is ever going mainstream distribution via steam or epic or whatever I would think he’d want to address this.

I don’t have it installed on my high-DPI laptop right now, but is this one of those things that might be fixed by the high-DPI compatibility setting in Win10? Reached by right-clicking on the executable, selecting Properties, Compatibility tab, and clicking the button labeled “Change high DPI settings”?
Thanks for calling that out, least I now know there might be a sort of solution if the dev doesn’t probably bake one into the game.
