You can make categories of games and show/hide categories in steam, so technically you could setup up a tier system and never have to look at anything other then the tier you are currently working on.

Just start with A and work your way to Z.

Here you go:

Topic from the official Egosoft forums and the mod forum.

My final haul:

Two Worlds II
Mount & Blade: Warband
Alpha Protocol
Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter
Deus Ex: GOTY
Deus Ex: Invisible War
Beat Hazard
STALKER: Call of Pripyat
King’s Bounty: The Legend
King’s Bounty: Armored Princess
King’s Bounty: Crossworlds
Atom Zombie Smasher
Gothic
Gothic 2 Gold Edition
Gothic 3
Gothic 3 Forsaken Gods
Arcania: Gothic 4
Risen
Sanctum
Hinterland
Garry’s Mod
Borderlands + All DLC
Magicka + All DLC
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood

Phew. I don’t even want to total it up. I’m afraid.

I recently started to do the same thing as my Steam game list started filling up with stuff I don’t intend to play. My category is called “crap” rather than “Zzzzzzzzzzz.” I don’t care where it is on the list, since I always keep it collapsed.

If I win, I promise to let you all know about it.

Me too. I recommend making a plain text list of every game you own (any order), and take it to work. Then, when you find yourself staring into the pit of despair, open up that list and start planning your playtime. Its the enjoyment of thinking about games combined with the satisfaction of making a to do list.

I make a list of the games that I own and have not played, and I often try to hit the indie games or the shorter games first (Batman: Arkham Asylum, Infamous 2, etc). If I can’t pick what to play, I assign them arbitrary numbers and do a coin-flip tournament.

Wow, King’s Bounty is really as good as I hoped. All the refinement of modern HoMM games, but with more purpose than just checking off lumber mills and ore mines. Even the presentation is all-around excellent – graphics & music are better than HoMM5 IMO.

Glad you are enjoying it, and I totally agree. I bought KB and AP on Impulse last year, and started with KB just to “get the feel” of the game system even though people recommended I play AP instead. I’m glad I didn’t listen, as I’ve got well over 20 hours invested in King’s Bounty so far, and have only briefly touched Armored Princess (just long enough to make me want to finish my KB campaign before going any further).

I lost my KB save game in a hard drive crash earlier this year though and now I’ll either have to start over or just move on to AP. Still, King’s Bounty is a wonderful game that recaptures a lot of the magic of the original HOMM series and adds a charm all it’s own.

Okay, so you may recall I offered a free copy of Frozen Synapse to the person who PM’d me the correct answer to my trivia question.

No one guessed the correct answer, which was King Arthur: The Druids expansion (the clue was This Is Spinal Tap’s song Stonehenge: “The Druids… no one knows who they were, or… what they were doing”).

So, to close it off, I’m offering the copy to fiveolddogs, who was the first to reply and whose guess (Vikings DLC for Civ V) was kind of a plausible answer. Thanks!

The odds of winning are ridiculously low, but oooh man, do I wanna win. Almost $500 in free games… :D

Yeah, I don’t think that my six lousy little tickets are gonna go very far…

… which will likely be marked down to $50 during the next sale. You really can’t lose with Steam.

I doubt I’d be able to get 3 of them for 50$ during the next winter sale honestly. Perhaps the next, next winter sale I’d be able to get all 10 for $50. But it’s more than just about the savings, it’s also about…

With 45 tickets, my victory is practically assured, right?

Right?

Did you buy games just because they were associated with a ticket?

No, my Steam account is just embarrassingly huge.

Done that!

Yes, I also track the games I want to get, despite the 28 games on my to-complete list (“finish”) and the 33 games on my yet-to-start list (“play”). And I have to record the games I actually complete, just to make sure I give myself credit, and accurately track my actual completion rate…

But but … I finished Saboteur and then started it again.

And then finished Just Cause 2 and restarted it on hardcore to get 100% (last one I need).

And then I restarted Prototype because leaping from the ground to the top of a tall(ish) building never gets old.

… maybe I just can’t put open worlders on a list. :P

Which came first, the game list or the porn list?
