Mayhem Intergalactic is one of those fun, lightweight strategy games. Gameplay is very, very similar to Galcon, but (simultaneous) turn-based. I’ve only just started playing, but it’s great fun and runs smoothly on my old computer.
Don’t buy it if you expect high strategy or something with a strong space theme. It’s the sort of simple mathematical game that could be played with a chessboard and a stack of poker chips, say.
I think $5 is about the right price for it. The developer has it at that price too, right now http://www.inventivedingo.com/mayhemig
There is ALSO some 3rd party registration/activation DRM shit for Two Worlds 2 even though there is no mention of it anywhere on the relevant steam page.
Fuck you steam, at least tell me there is some 3rd party bullshit DRM
I would NOT have bought it
Yes, it’s a decent game. I played through it, and the game is fun all the way through. I only had a couple of problems with weird bugs near the end of the game, but other than that, it was a great, smooth ride. Very satisfying 3D platformer.
By “latest iteration” we’re talking about The Forgotten Sands, right?

It looks like the price of Terraria just went up to $5, right when it was in my shopping cart ready to be bought. I feel like this guy right now:

D’oh! Denied!
It’s still a great buy at 5 bucks, though. I paid $9.99 before the sale.
Uhhh, wtf… They modified a daily deal?

Wow, they did raise the price ($2.50 to $5)… glad I jumped on it.
My only purchases so far have been:
Oblivion GOTY
Terraria
Still thinking about grabbing Hinterland and Starscape on the cheap, though.
Cool, thanks. I can now purchase with a conscience at ease knowing the money I am throwing away was tossed due to a valid, positive recommendation and not my own weak impulse when confronted with a perceived “deal”.
Well, passing on Terraria then. It’ll be on sale again for 75% at some point.
Hey, if you’ve got plenty of other games to play in the meantime, why not. I’m tempted by the Sam and Max complete deal, but realistically, I’ve got so much on my plate already I’m probably going to hold off.
Yeah, it’s not that the $2.50 is a deal breaker but that I know it’ll (eventually) go to that level again and I’ve got so much to do in the meantime, plus it is a bit annoying to have Steam do that again this sale.
Very tempted by SnM season 3, but then it’s only $4 more for 1 and 2. But I own 1 and 2 on my 360. I just wish they’d put 3 on the 360 as well – what happened to Telltale’s 360 plans?
Yes.
Just to summarize:
Prince of Persia - Excellent 2D platformer, gorgeous remake worth playing on XBLA.
Prince of Persia 2 - Not as good 2D platformer, not really worth going back for.
Prince of Persia 3D - From accounts, a poor 3D platformer, never tried it.
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time - Story 4/5, Gameplay 4/5, overall excellent.
Prince of Persia: Warrior Within - Story 2/5, Gameplay 5/5, overall great if you can get past the metal bikini chick.
Prince of Persia: Two Thrones - Story 3/5, Gameplay 3/5, meh, didn’t like it.
Prince of Persia 2008 - Story 5/5, Gameplay 4/5, overall a classic for all time.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - Story 2/5, Gameplay 4/5, overall pretty good.
My favorite gameplay is in Warrior Within. My favorite story is in PoP 2008. But Forgotten Sands’ gameplay is right up there with some of the best in the series.
Forgotten Sands has Ubi’s special brand of incredibly terrible DRM, though. The “you must be online continuously to play this game” kind.

For those that just bought Terraria, it might be worthwhile to wait until the new patch is released. I’m not sure if we’ll need to start a new world or character, but the new patch sounds like its going to change things up quite a bit.
Picked up Terraria (early, got the $2.50 price) and NWN2 for me and gifted a copy to my son also. Looking forward to the last day! The Drakensang games are the only ones I’ll be grabbing to finish it off. The last day sales are usually the “best of” from the past daily sales right?

2008 was the one you couldn’t ever lose, right?
I would give that gameplay 1/5. The entire game was one long QTE.
Story was forgettable except for the excellent ending. Which I guess I’m one of the few to “decide” on. :P
The rest of your summaries seem pretty spot-on though. Except that you can’t invert camera in WW, bringing the gameplay down to a 0. :/ Not sure about the others, that little discovery soured me on the entire Sands/Warrior/Thrones trilogy.
Oh, F that noise. No sale.

Sorry to jump in on a topic that seems done with already, but the Hegemony Gold set is also available from Gamersgate and seems to be on sale. The more stuff you have on your GG account, the cheaper it is.

The combat in Warrior Within was awesome back on the 'cube.
