I’m in the exact same predicament, and I do this: I download the games to the SSD when I buy them, and then I use the Steam backup to move the installation over to my NAS/data drive. Then, when the mood strikes me to play something from my library, I can take 5 mins and restore the local backup rather than wait hours to download the whole thing.

The Drakensang games are discounted by 66%, I think. I got the second one plus the expansion for $15, and even though I haven’t had time to play them yet, I have high expectations.

Also, the entire collection of Gratuitous Space Battles for $10 seems like a great deal. I’ve been going back and forth on whether to buy or not, but I’ve decided not to, mainly because I won’t have time to play it anytime soon, anyway.

Borderlands + DLC for $7.50 takes the hours of awesome gaming per dollar ratio into unknown territory.

PSA for anyone who was motivated by this thread to pick up Risen earlier this week and is enjoying it: I’m about 8 hours into Two Worlds II ($17 today) and am having a really similar, excellent experience.

Lastly, here’s a bad Steam phenomenon: when you buy a game at a slightly discounted price (say, $30 down from $50) and still haven’t even played it by the time it comes down to like $10. Backlog hoarding with poor financial planning. Ugh.

Still on the fence about Two Worlds 2. Its being favorably compared to a lot of games I’ve loved. On the other hand, I barely made it an hour into the first game.
