Hey friends, and welcome to another week of spacey gaming! This week, for our game of the week, we continue our look at the Wing Commander series with the intriguing but ultimately forgettable Wing Commander: Armada. I also have a video looking at the currently-in-alpha MMO Starfighter: Infinity, which is just absolutely fantastic.
Speaking of Starfighter: Infinity, our podcast this week (Tuesday, 6:00 AM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer) is a morning show so we can talk to the developer of the game, who lives in the UK!
For this week’s LAN Party (Thursday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we return with our monthly muck-'em-up in Borderlands 2! As of this entry, we’ve been doing this for a year! Wow!
Finally folks, this Summer is looking to be a really busy one for us, so there will be sporadic breaks in our usual schedule. For example, there will be no podcast next Tuesday as I’ll be at a concert! You can keep up with the schedule at our always-updated calendar! Thanks for being awesome y’all, and have a great week!
Hello, my friends, and welcome to a new week of spacey gaming! This week, we look at the (very sadly) last full, commercial product in the Wing Commander series, the much-loved Wing Commander: Prophecy. It’s a shame this is the last one in the series, because it sets up so much, and Secret Ops doesn’t really take it a lot further, sadly. It’s new VISION flight engine is also WAY better than any of the previous games. Next week we’ll be finishing the Wing Commander series with the aforementioned Secret Ops!
This week on the Podcast (Tuesday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), by request, we’ll be talking about DLC, how if affects new players to long-running games, and how it’s changed just in the last few years.
Hello my friends, and welcome to a slightly lighter-than-usual week of spacey gaming! This week’s game wraps up our look at the Wing Commander series with its final game, Wing Commander: Secret Ops. It’s a real shame that the series stopped here, because it deserved a far better finale than this free, downloadable product was capable of providing. It just shows how…ultimately unimaginative the actual gameplay in Wing Commander games can be once you take out the story bits.
There is no podcast this week because I won’t be able to attend, but NEXT week we’ll have the CEO of the influencer-focused digital distribution platform Woovit on to talk about getting games to the right creators.
Finally, on this week’s LAN Party (Thursday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’ll be toying with the fantastic, free and fabulous Total Annihilation-inspired RTS, Zero-K. Since the game is free, you’re more than welcome to join us if you’d like!
Hello, my friends, and welcome to the first of several of what I’m calling, “one-off weeks”, in which I’ll cover a lot of smaller or pre-release titles so they get the coverage they deserve and don’t get lost amongst the flotsam of recent releases. This week, we start with the fun ARPG Star Valor, and the free sector-jumping RTS Voidship: The Long Journey! Later this week I’ll have videos of Space God, Open Space: 2D, The Pirates of Sector 7 and Galactic Pocket Billiards! If you’ve not yet, subscribe to the channel to be alerted to new videos. ;)
On the Podcast this week (Tuesday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’re doing something a little different. We’ll be talking to the CEO of the creator-focused digital distribution platform Woovit to talk about the PR side of this thing we call gaming.
Finally, for this week’s LAN Party (Thursday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’ll be returning to the wilds of Pandora in Borderlands 2 to kill all sorts of crap. :)
I like that article. I tend to gravitate toward watching the smaller streamers myself, with a few exceptions, just because the small streamers tend to stick to the basics, just the game, none of that extra bells and whistles crap. I like that twitch has a “retro” category for pretty much all older games, that’s almost exclusively what I watch, and it’s a much more exclusive crowd as you might imagine.
Yeah I kind of dig it too. Without wanting to be too hipster an empty streamer or one where I am the only viewer has a handcrafted artisan feeling you know?
Welcome to another week of fun, spacey gaming my friends. It’s another one-off week, so we start with a preview of the upcoming turn-based tactical combat game, In Memory of Titan. I’ll also have videos of Lonely Astronaut, Starfighter Neon and Aeroplanoui later in the week, and we’ll end the week with a really funny non-space game. ;)
This week on the Podcast (Tuesday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), our co-host wonders, “Why catering to all of gaming as one market is bad for all gamers.” So we’ll be talking about that and probably a ton of other stuff.
Final note, next week I’m going on vacation for our first anniversary, so the channel will be dark for the week. No videos, podcast or LAN party. We’ll be back in two weeks with War Tech Fighters, among other things. ;) Be sure to check the calendar to see all the stuff coming up! :) Thanks y’all!
Hey friends, welcome to another week of spacey gaming. I’m back from vacation with an exceptional game! If you played Strike Suit Zero and thought it was lacking, you will LOVE the fun, fast, violent and, at times, hilariously great space mecha game, War Tech Fighters! I also hope I’ll have time for some more videos later this week, so stay tuned to the YouTubes. ;)
On this week’s podcast (Tuesday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), I am super silly excited to have on the man who basically created one of my all-time favorite games. We’ll be talking to Scott Brown, the brains behind the classic MMO Jumpgate!
Finally, on this week’s LAN Party (Thursday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’ll start an entire month of Borderlands 2 because we wanna blow through the content. ;)
Welcome to another week of (mostly) spacey gaming, my friends! This week we go way back to 1986 to play the Amiga version of the first-person sci-fi combat flight sim, Starglider, which is insane in its difficulty (spoiler: I never pass level one). I hope to put out some more videos this week if I have time/energy, so stay tuned to the channel for more.
On the podcast this week (Tuesday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’ll talk about why we keep chasing that dragon with new games all the time.
On Thursday’s LAN party (Thursday, 5:30 PM Pacific, Twitch, YouTube, Mixer), we’ll continue our assault on Dragon Keep with Borderlands 2!
I made this little game using Bitsy (an online toolset for making simple story games). It was for a Bitsy game jam where the theme was “Archaeology.” I’ve been sitting on it for awhile because I had a bunch of improvements I wanted to make, but I think I finally have to admit I probably won’t be doing them.
The game takes a few minutes to play and it’s about going to Mars and digging stuff up.
Friends, I’m trying to get back on the blogging train by making the actual process of blogging as simple/efficient as possible, so please enjoy the first of what I hope are many new daily dispatches.
