AMD offers more cores for your money and Intel constantly and continually gets hit with new spectre exploits which slow down their CPUs by 1-3%, and they add up. That said Intel still wins on clockspeed, even though IPC is nearly identical now, so if all you do is game they still come out on top.
I wouldn’t buy Intel now unless I was building a Plex server and wanted hardware transcoding.
