If you’ve got some civ stations and empty docks.
I finally found some time to start my video walk-throughs. Here’s the first/test one covering game setup. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GEqT_ISUbc. I’d appreciate any feedback since next up is the main/starmap/strategic screen.

The most important thing I have to say is that the game volume needs to come way down in relation to your voice. What you’re saying is by far the most important thing about the videos, and the droning of ship engines and main menu music were distracting at best.
Otherwise, you answered every questions I had about the setup screen after my first experiment with the game a month ago, so I’d call the video a success in that regard. The pacing of your material is good, as well, so I’ll definitely be watching the rest of these as they come out. Thanks for taking the time to put that one together.
Very well done. It was a great help. I have yet to really delve into the game (just booted it up once or twice) but this got me itching to try. Thanks for doing it and look forward to more.
(Agree on the audio mix, but it was not a huge problem).
Nice, looking forward to more of these since this game is in my queue for the near future. I am hoping that you will be showing us how to play the game, rather than how to use the interface.
All I can add beyond what has been already mentioned is to watch the ums and ahs, I find them distracting. But good job, appreciate it.
Yeah, that tutorial was a lot of help and has also gotten me excited about giving it a try for the first time. Looking forward to more!
Subscribed! Looking forward to watching the rest of these. I’m a 4X nub and really want to try out this game, and this will help me out a lot. Thanks!
Here’s the main screen i.e. Strategic Screen.

Thanks Rorschach, your vid tutorials are always great. They helped me out back in the SOTS Prime days.
These are really useful, Rorscach, thanks!

Yes, I am finding these useful Rorscach. I am not playing this game yet, but when I do Ill definitely have a decent idea of what I am doing once I am done with your videos. I plan on playing this over Christmas vacation.
Waiting to see a tutorial/lets play with the Loa. I tried them briefly… but very confused on their mechanics, and there isn’t any info that I could find in the manual/encyclopedia.

Very good videos. I didn’t realize until your second vid (and a post on the KB forums), that ships in reserve were considered to be “mothballed” AND their maintenance costs were much lower. I couldn’t understand why reserve ships couldn’t defend a system, but realize none of them probably have crew!
Here’s the manual for EoF that explains the Loa mechanics: http://bit.ly/Txl4YZ
It’s in the launcher too, same as the old manual.
The link from inside Steam just took me to the old manual, fairly sure that I tried another link to the manual that didn’t have any End of Flesh info in it.
The really bizarre part to me is that the in-game encyclopedia doesn’t have info on the expansion. Or at least didn’t yesterday when I was playing.

The link to the EoF manual is in the launcher.

Kerberos sent another update last night. It seems a lot of the problems introduced with the expansion are being fixed, though the highly-annoying lag when right-clicking fleets is still there.
Overall, I am really enjoying the new Loa though. They are very different from any of the previous races, probably the most unique in their mechanics. The combination of amazingly deadly ship sections with the ability to reconfigure fleets on a whim is quite addictive.
That was fixed in the patch tonight.
