They are alternate skins for the 4 named races, plus I think some alternate spoken command responses, decals, etc.

You can select the alternate appearances by selecting <Race Name> Immersion as the race when setting up a player slot in a game.

The immersion packs also contains some new voices and avatars.

Do the new purchasers get the DLC immersion packs for free? I notice they have not been put back on sale.

I was a pre-order customer and the offer of the free DLC to make up for the appaling launch was what pursuaded me not ask for a refund.

No clue. If Telefrog only got two, perhaps they’re doing a halfway approach for new purchasers (It seems like he’s missing both the Solforce and Horde DLC’s, both of which should belong to those who preordered). Alternatively, it could be part of a special deal.

I put the main game code into Steam and got the two packs I listed plus an “Sol Force Immersion” and “Horde” packs (so 4 in total) which wasn’t even listed in the GG page.

Ah, so you did get everything. Interesting …

As expected, purchasing early and not asking for the refund has not exactly turned out to be a wise move financially. A few fans on the official forum are predicting the price will go back up to $40 once the ‘all clear’ is given. Maybe I can make my money back from them somehow…

Just picked this up for £6.49 on gamersgate and got 4 DLC included when i put the gamersgate code into steam. Not sure what the 4 DLC are yet? and likely wont as its now Mass Effect 3 week. Look forward to checking this out in a week or so.

Are there plans to allow for more than one victory condition, eventually? Seems a weird limitation.

When is purchasing a game early ever a wise move from a financial standpoint? I guess games like Minecraft would count for that.

I do think they should throw a bone to the early adopters though, since we basically funded the last 6 months of development.

Doubly true for any Paradox published game.

I agree, but what do they have left in terms of bones to throw our way? I’d honestly be a little surprised if this game will have an expansion in the works, given the fallout. I sincerely doubt we’ll see any more DLC’s as well. They already gave us a nice-in-theory-but-relatively-meaningless gift of the orginal Sword of the Stars (sans expansions, no less). Maybe some kind of spacebucks to spend on Paradox games? I suppose that’s not going to happen, either, as it would be too nice to hope for.

Regardless, The game is shaping up nicely and I have high hopes for it in a finished form. That’s at least something for the (over) investment, I guess. It’s not enough to make me feel all warm and fuzzy, but it’s still something. If everybody got refunds, I doubt the patching would have gotten this far. Yay, us.

Yeah, financial was not the right way for me to put it. It just grates a bit to have the game be so cheap just around the point where it’s finally approaching workable status. Even if this is exactly what I expected to happen.

Ironically, as it gets closer to completion, the remaining bugs, missing features and performance issues seem to become ever more annoying. The current state of the AI is particularly sad, given how it is kicking my ass in a current game of SotS1.

I hope they do get to make an expansion, but with the fiasco of the launch, it does seem like faint hope.

They’ve been claiming they’re a month or so from being release quality since the end of October. Four months later, they’re still asking people to treat it as a beta.

My bet’s on them going out of business before this is a game that people should pay money for.

I hope not, as I would very much like to play the game as advertised.

I think a lot may depend on Paradox and their willingness to fund an expansion. It’s still unclear how culpable they were in the release clusterfuck.

Speaking of development there should be a patch today I believe?

Hopefully, yes.

Well for $7.50 I picked it up. Not even going to bother playing it for at least a couple of months though. Needs some more time in the oven.

Good idea - I’m sure you’ll hear trumpets from the heavens (or at least someone will post about it, here) once the “all clear” patch is finally released.
