Those are some great air show shots, Kadath! I particularly like the one with the Coast Guard chopper and the person hanging off the side.

Thanks! There’s a whole series of those with them out the door down to hitting the water if you flip to that link above.

I only brought my beat up Alpha 6000 to Animal Kingdom. Trying to get sharp and well lit pics on that safari bus hitting 30mph is fricking impossible. Really wish I brought my D500 and 70-300 instead. But… The best camera is what you have with you, made the best of it.

Yeah, pretty happy with the combo of Nikon D500 and 70-300 VR, all shots from the ‘club’ level. Security doesn’t blink an eye bringing this combo in and it shoots under the lights at 1/640th a second at 3200 ISO like it was daylight. Can’t wait to try it during a real daytime game and see how little noise there will be in those shots.

I really dug the Flicker reduction thing too. Lots more consistent shot to shot.

The 70-300 does great panos too =)

From my vacation at the North Sea in Büsum, Germany.
It’s ArtPrize time again here in Grand Rapids. Spent a couple of afternoons looking at some of the hundreds of entries. Probably 70-80% of it just kinda bounces off me, but that other 20-30% is amazing. (And I’m sure other people’s 20-30% is different than mine!) I took some pictures which are mostly terrible due to a combination of my (lack of) skill and use of a camera phone, but they can still give you an idea of what’s out there.

Meanwhile, I took some shots when the haunted house my wife works at was filming a quick commercial. This one was my favorite:

Bah srry, was trying to make a thin post, forgot spoiler doesn’t roll stuff up here any more.
Great pics Sam! You can’t go wrong with birds in flight.
If you want to make the posts thin, use the “Hide Details” option, not the spoiler option.

Thanks!
Is there BBcode for that?
You select it using the little cogwheel when you’re composing, then select Hide Details.

Simon you would really like the pictures from a friend of mine.
Here’s a recent one:

That’s either a worryingly large bee, or quite a macro lens.
I checked out the album - they are magnificent pictures!
More practice needed!
