Very, very nice! Where did take the first photo? I want to do that hike.
And, yeah, the Seattle skyline is getting to amazing levels. The city is growing and changing so fast. In the last five years, we’ve added 30 skyscrapers (buildings 20 stories or taller), 21 more are currently under construction, 56 more are proposed (ranging from proposal, early design guidance, land use application, permits issued, and site activity), and currently 6 more are rumored.
That tall building in the middle is the still-under-construction Rainier Square Tower, now the second-tallest building in the city. Though that may not last, as there are plans for a supertall (300 meters minimum) in Seattle!
Plus there’s all those new amazing homeless encampments!

Visually stunning! For real. You used ND filters here?
The first shot has a 3-stop graduated ND filter to even out the exposure between the sky and foreground, but the exposure times were in the neighborhood of 2 minutes and 5 minutes respectively because I was shooting at f/32 with ISO 100 film.
It was at Discovery Park, out near the lighthouse.
That’s what I thought; sunset is to the west. I know the trail you took.

Anonymgeist, I find that first photo to be extraordinarily beautiful. Great shot(s).

Wow, that first shot is just killer. Stunning.
Proper scans will have to wait a bit as I learned the perils of purchasing used electronics, but I made the jump to shooting large format film and, subsequently, developing film at home. I was quite relieved to find that both were far easier and more enjoyable than I had feared. I had wanted to do it for a while, but was frankly intimidated by the process.
Until a replacement scanner arrives, here’s a shot comparing 35mm, 120 (6x7cm), and 4x5 sheet film. Those large format negatives are just out of this world, and I spent a good hour pouring over them with my loupe. I think it’s only a matter of time before I get into proper printing and enlargements.
Recently I went to Mammoth Lakes for the Mammoth Photo Fest, which is a bit of a conference and gathering of local and national photographers. Learned a lot, not just about photography but the business of photography, printing, monitor color calibration, and a lot more. Here’s a couple of shots:

All four are incredible, but I especially love the third one.

Ah… its there now. Earlier, all I saw was a small grey stop sign.

Same here (though mine was simply a blank image area)
None of them are working for me. The first is a big, blank box which says “Image could not be loaded” if I click on it, and there’s a space below that which is… a space!
Admittedly my internet isn’t working too well at the moment, but other images in the thread are loading fine.
it’s really weird that it’s doing that, as I used the exact same method to post it as all the others and they all come from the same source. I’ve tried re-pasting the URL just to be sure.

Working now, whatever you did fixed it! Or maybe my internet coincidentally fixed itself at the same time. Anyway, those pictures are non-ironically visually stunning! There’s a real art to getting the scene in front of your eyes to go through the camera lens and eventually appear on your monitor the way you remember it. It’s always a learning process. Great pics!
Something odd is going on. I can only see the first image. It is wonderful. I’d love to see the others but they just show as light grey stop signs.
Really weird. Not sure what else to do; these are all Google Photo links.
