I’m on a trip through Norway again and during the last 2 nights I was lucky enough to see the Northern Lights! Its pretty awesome. Have to confess that I was a bit naive and assumed that you always see the colours with the naked eye. So it took forever for me to realize the “grey wispy clouds” above me where in fact the lights!!
Who else has had experiences trying to capture those?
That realization dawned on me too. I had come home very late one winter night and just decided to look up at the sky before going inside. Weird, the sky is all wavy and unsteady. It took bit for me realize it was a display of Northern lights.
Where in Norway? Let me know if you’re in Tromsø and want some local tips.

I took these photos a looooooong time ago with the intent to possibly stitch them together. Finally got around to it. The full-size version is pretty damn nice (it’s 20MB, and 8837x2252), but Discourse will shrink it here.

@Woolen_Horde are those the raws? Or is there any chance I can get a copy of a higher res for two stitches? I wouldn’t mind printing a larger version for my wife, two places she’s lived and she’d enjoy the pics, maybe even framed.
That may be a tall ask but it’s worth seeing if you’re okay with that.
