This looks way too uni-tasker for anyone’s kitchen. And are there any advantages over just using the oven?

Holy fuck this is amazing

Basically, the thing is two elements on the top and bottom, and the plate thing spins between them.

It cooks a frozen pizza faster than an oven, from zero to done in about 14 minutes with no preheating or anything.

One thing that’s nice about it is that you can turn on either the top or bottom elements individually, if you want crispier crust or whatever.

You can apparently cook pretty much anything on it, although I only ever used it for pizza. But really, it’s basically just like two electric broiler elements.

Like I said, I got it in college, and it was very useful at times… it doesn’t get used much any more, but I still got it, and I still bring it out when I’m feeing lazy and want a frozen pizza.

Nope not British (unless you want to count some ancestors). The fan is there because it’s a convection oven, although the fan kicks on at times when not in convection mode (like during preheating). It’s handy but I don’t often use the convection mode directly.

I know I’d made this post before, but to see that I made it after you referenced the same damn thing makes me feel unoriginal to the extreme. Anyways, here’s my favored pizza cooking oven gadget: Tell us what you have cooked lately (that’s interesting)

We tried sous vide halibut this evening with some couscous Mediterranean veggie mix. Halibut is always a bit dry when cooked in the oven or grill, so thought it would be improved by cooking sous vide. It was a nice improvement, but still not as juicy as I would like.

Heh, I forgot the pizza pizzas was mentioned by me before. But it’s just that cool!

Never heard of Pizza Pizzaz, but I’d be all over that halibut. We ate out this evening, Pizza, believe it or not.

I think I have that or a very similar model and it was very useful in my kitchenette before I moved out of the apartment my parents built for me in their basement (which was a converted wet bar and had a mini-fridge, a chest freezer in the furnace room, a hotplate, and a microwave until I got a couple other things, such as the Pizzaz). I wasn’t needing an oven for much other than frozen pizza, and thus…

But after a while I splurged on a Breville Smart Oven
and I never really looked back. Even now that I’ve got a real (if small) kitchen the Smart Oven still sees use as a handier way to cook frozen pizza than a full size oven. And some smaller oven items. And occasionally toast, etc. It’s expensive but incredibly well designed, sturdy, and easy to clean.

Looks like a good toaster oven. I kind of miss having one, actually… I’m not sure if I have the counter space to dedicate to one, but I may check that one out more. It looks pretty solid.

Timex, we had wanted to try one, but weren’t sure they were worth the money. My wife got a scratch & dent mini for like 120 bucks or something and we love it. The smaller size might work for you, but you won’t be putting a full-size frozen pizza in it.

Does anybody have the super-deluxe version that air frys and dehydrates? Would love to know how well the air fryer works.

I guess these aren’t technically done cooking until they hit the grill (that’s when they’ll actually look appetizing enough for pictures), but I whipped up a batch of these last night. I’ve made them before, they are super tasty.

(For the record, I’m also going to eat the hell out of some beef burgers this weekend.)

Odd thing about toaster ovens… You know what I miss having one for? Hot dogs. Best way for quickly cooking hot dogs.

Agreed. Foil directly on the rack. Much better than microwave or boiling. Quick too.

Cheesy breakfast hash with cherrywood bacon, diced potatoes, bell peppers, and onion, and lots and lots of cheese.

Served with the most hideous, poorly flipped fried eggs I’ve ever made, plus some scallions.

I’ll have a plate!

Meanwhile, wings on the barbie!

In your choice of Sweet Hawaiian BBQ:

Or Cholula Chili Garlic:

Having spent four days away from home I finally got around to unpacking my vacuum sealer. The wife had purchased eye round steaks which I understand to be the equivalent of hard mode in Dwarf Fortress for sous vide.

So tonight I seasoned them with salt, garlic powder, onion powder and smoked paprika. Then I sealed them and put them in the fridge. The Anova is set up as well. Tomorrow I get up around 7AM, get the water heated up and put the steaks in for 12 hours. My understanding is that for this cut of meat, longer is better. Everything should be ready when the wife gets home from work at 6:30 or 7:00. Wish me luck. :-)

Likewise, dude! The wings are gorgeous and plentiful :-D

Tonight! Japanese-inspired cuisine begins!

Thinly sliced pork chops marinated in a mixture of miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, garlic, and sesame oil, then sauteed in a screaming hot skillet and topped with seared pineapple. On the side, sticky sushi rice and tempura veggies (sweet potatoes, zucchini, broccoli, and mushroom).

That tempura looks simply marvelous!

Ok, so this isn’t a thing I’ve cooked yet.

These are some potatoes I grew.
Last year, I had a potato left in my cupboard that got pretty old and shriveled. So I thought, “I wonder what happens if I just stick this thing in the ground.”

So I did, and it turned into a pretty huge plant. It flowered and grew fruit (which are poisonous). The plant was pretty cool looking. But I never really knew how to harvest the potatoes, so I just was like, “whatever.” Oh, here’s a picture of it. It’s the big leafy thing in the middle.

Anyway, this year, a bunch of new plants started coming up. I guess the potatoes had established themselves. But I didn’t really want the garden taken over by potatoes, so I figured it would be a chance to dig them up and see what’s going on. I don’t really want the potatoes, but I was interested. And sure enough, there were a bunch of potatoes! So I took them inside and washed them off, and I guess I’ll cook them. There may actually be more potatoes in the ground, so I guess we’ll see.

Overall, the garden had come back pretty well. A bunch of cilantro started growing, but something ate all the shoots…I think A bunny. There are also some green onions which I planted from the bottom of some onions I had bought but which got slimy in my fridge, so I stuck them in the dirt too and they somehow survived all winter (including being under 25 inches of snow). To be clear, they didn’t come back… They never died. They just stayed green all winter. And now they are flowing, so I’m hoping they will seed the garden.

The same happened to a “leaf celery” plant, which is not a perennial, but somehow just survived, and is growing strong. I highly recommend leaf celery for anyone with a garden. It tastes like celery, but with a much stronger, more peppery flavor.

Anyway, so that happened.
