That’s a cute baby! Congratulations on your teeny, tiny pirate.

Does this mean it’s still a little pre-emptive to offer up congratulations?
Ta, tiohn :)
He is fair, but with his mum’s Indonesian eyes, I think he will be quite a handsome kid!
I absolutely hate drivers like that, Bahimiron. Sorry to hear about it. What a terrible thing to witness!
Of course, I’m of the mind that at least half of the people on the road today are inconsiderate, irresponsible jerkwads who shouldn’t even be allowed to operate a lawn tractor…

Everyone is in such a hurry nowadays that they tend to drive like jerkholes. :\

My street is the worst. Every single day, without fail, I’ll have to make sure I avoid an SUV or a pickup truck weaving around everyone because they aren’t going at a speed that the larger vehicle approves of. It’s fucking stupid and dangerous.
My wife and I are visiting family a few times this fall and I’m just now realizing how few flights there are out there right now. Making a connection at a reasonable price is a joke due to the awkward timing. For the most recent trip, I discovered that flying nonstop to an airport two hours away from my destination and renting a car there would be cheaper, faster in total travel time, and more convenient in departure times.
I can’t really complain because even 2-3 weeks out, the flights we’ve been interested in are only a couple hundred bucks.

Dur to cost cutting all increases have been cancelled this year but we are assured that next year all salaries will be reviewed to ensure that they are market related. This despite the fact that we’re making a healthy profit. I’m guessing this cost cutting will not apply to upper management. Apologies but it has to be said:“Fucking tapirs.”
I’m doing a similar sort of thing around Christmas. It was cheaper AND faster for me to drive four hours out of my way to Kansas City to catch a direct flight for Philly, compared to leaving from my local airport.
I’m also going to have to leave my house at like 3 am to make this four hour drive and catch the flight on time, but that’s nobodies fault but mine. There is a later flight on the same route, but it costs more and I’m cheap ;-)

I’ve been doing this for years. Prices from the local hub are far too absurd for continental flights. I pretty much have to be going to Japan or Europe for tickets there to be worthwhile. Otherwise it’s cheaper to drive three hours to an airport in the next state over.
Yeah I figured the pricing has made sense for a while, especially now that I have to shop for two, but the lack of flights makes the total travel time pretty awful as well if the layovers don’t line up.
Don’t I know it! I’m in a temporary position, and I’m told they may have to reduce my work hours (and pay too, obviously, and it’s not like it’s that great to begin with) to make ends meet. Yet we’re raking in more money than we did at this time last year. Of course, upper management are keen to let us know that we’re well below projections. But the projections are apparently based on the concept that our company has been sprinkled with fairy dust and everyone’s falling over each other to do business with us in the middle of a recession. Fucking tapirs indeed.

To graduate all I need is for my advisor to turn in a grade before the 16th.
She’s in Egypt with no phone or email until the 13th.
ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH!
I’ve just found out that BushfiresNT will give us a 50% discount on buying a new flamethrower.
At last.
You do this on purpose now.
Crocs AND flamethrowers!? How can any of us claim to have had anything interesting happen to us?
(I just bought a PS3. Had no games for it and the colleague going to lend me all the good PS3 games forgot - and then out of the blue Uncharted 2 appeared… and I didn’t use to be on Sonys mailing list. See, not really the same)

Our jackass dog ate two dozen of these fancy, organic, pro-choice cupcakes that we had purchased to give to people that are helping us move.

Your dog knew it was pro life cupcake day. If you had prepared more pro life cupcakes both your dogs and you friends could have gotten the message.
I just went to an awesome conference on personal branding and social media. I realize that to anyone who isn’t a freelancer, small business owner, or in marketing, that makes me sound like a tool, but to say that today was a transformative experience would be an understatement. I was in a room with some amazing minds. I shook Scott Monty’s hand and set him up for a great joke. I got to hold the gold medal of the fastest female amputee (100m) in the world. And I saw dozens of people that I’ve met through twitter in the past few months and just shared in a totally cool experience.
I’m gonna be processing everything for days. It rocked my world.
