Good timing :)

I hope you’re ok.

Yes, I guess they only sell the brand over there in Europe? Otherwise I’d certainly want to know the brand of helmet you got so I could get one!

It was a Bell Volt, no probs getting it anywhere I guess, mine came from the UK. Anything over, say $40 will be as good in a crash, I only got this one for shows, apparently spending most of my karma too.

Hey, that’s the one I have. I look like a fucking dork in it, so I’m glad it serves it’s purpose (the kids also have Bells and the company comes highly recommended)

Celebrated our companys 50 year anniversary with a kickass party.
Breakfast, lunch and a bit of work in between, then champagne and my Beatles Rockband (reason to become apparent). I learned and interesting lesson. It was the first time ever playing one of these games in a party setting and surprisingly many of the non-gamers showed no interest whatsoever. Those who played other games, wanted to try. And those with some musical background wanted to try - but others watched or just walked away.
Then we had a very nice dinner. Some competitions (my colleague who could list every move made in his last three chess games won the Biggest Geek award) and we had a quiz with half questions about The Beatles and half questions about our corporate overlords - I aced The Beatles questions, but not the others and thus lost. Winner got the Beatles Remaster box.

Then mangaement showed. Held a nice “It’s because of the unique stuff that you people at <insert name of magazine here> does, we’re this sucessful” and gave all of us $1500 tax free.

Then all 330 went across the parking lot to the neighbouring theatre and saw the theatre concertCome Together which was great. Basically it was just a concert with Beatles covers in a theatre setting ie some spectacle going on. No story or no sense, but great visuals to entertain.

Free bar and lots of happy people afterwards… I assume they could only get that many tickets for a weekday, because that there would be fuckall work done the following friday shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody ok’ing the wine and spirits order.

Customer canceled the contract. We all know why and it was not the team’s fault. Still, it was unexpected. I have until May to find a new job. I’d rather not have them try to “find a position” for me here. Anyone need a support tech in Cincinnati?

didn’t get the newspaper job. :(

Damn Awesome (in the good way!)

Nice, bosses showing appreciation is always good

I’m eating squid in a brazillian resturaunt near Rockefeller center.

:(

Mediation was a bit fucked up.

The interview was fun. They’re all a bunch of electrical engineers and it’s pretty much what you would expect a bunch of enteurpreneurial electrical engineers would get up to without adult supervision. Lots of freedom and creativity and choas coupled with insanely high IQ’s.

I think it went well but they’ll take someone with more of an engineering background. I’d enjoy the environment, lots of opportunity for someone with initiative to work with a lot of really cool stuff.

Inspired by Fire, and the fact that my chest freezer ran out of space, I just became a milk donor. A nice lady with an adopted newborn just picked up 200oz from me. She was very happy and now I’m feeling really happy and useful to society! Wooo karmic high!

Damn your eyes, now I’m wanting some smoked squid… Oh wait, there’s a Korean store that sells whole squid on the way home, and I have a smoker!!! There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Not to me per se, but interesting and relevant to a gaming forum.

My brother-in-law was offered a position as Project Manager for Starcraft II in Seoul. Too bad he’s not a gamer, but as a Korean, he did appreciate the awesomeness of it.

Meaning, he turned it down. : / I was briefly hoping for a leaked build.

I’m into anti-interesting now. The company agreed to honour my original contract to the end of December but I’m starting to wish I’d gone at the end of last week. With effectively 4 weeks to go there are a lot of things that there’s just no point me starting as I wont be here to finish them and there is only so much documentation and tweaking existing stuff I can do in a day.

At least at home I could be working on updating my certification, that Beekeeping database I’ve been promising to do and a host of other useful things geared towards getting a new job/contract in the new year.

Yay 4 you!

I went on a date on Saturday night. Over the course of the evening she told me three things of particular note that no one has ever said to me on a date before.

  1. She thinks I’m “gorgeous.” I’ve gotten cute or handsome before, but never gorgeous.
  2. She’s engaged. Huh!
  3. Her fiance allows her to have sex with women. I am not a woman and am often told that I look a lot like House, who is not particularly feminine.

It was an interesting night.

Oh yeah, that one is a keeper. For, oh, about a month I’d say. But she’ guaranteed to put out.

She’s engaged, she’s allowed to screw women, and she went on a date with a guy? Yeah, that marriage is gonna last.

I’m off to Synergy live on Friday for 3 days of sun, beer and rock & roll.

A great lineup of local bands and some really excellent DJs for the electro tent.

Going to be Awesome!
