Nice!

I’m curious, by “put out” do you mean submitted it in response to specific job postings or gave it to a recruiter or what?

Her without makeup is pretty amazing IMO! So if you have any more suggestions i have open ears(e-ears).

I made my yearly trip to the ER this morning at about 5 am. I started having breathing problems at about 3 and by 4:30 it was a full blown asthma attack. After getting two breathing treatments and a chest x-ray they decided that I had bronchitis, which is way worse when you have asthma and I probably have had for at least 3 weeks, and combined with the 45 degree temperature drop gave me the perfect storm for breathing problems. And to think I was less than a month away from having a year without visiting a hospital.

I have to reply to the job offer tomorrow and another good company I sent my CV to wants me to go for an interview tomorrow.

I can’t put off responding to the job offer on the table since I’ve put off answering it since Tuesday because of the issue with the boy’s health but this other job is for another excellent company.

I also don’t want to say I’ll take the job but go back on my word after telling the first company I’ll take the job.

Talking of jobs, who says playing WoW is a waste of time? friend in Guild mentioned a few potential job openings coming up, sent my CV over to him and his boss liked what he saw apparently. Job is nothing to do with SQL Server/Databases which I’ve spent the past 5 years working on so will be interesting to see what they’ve got in mind.

The contract staff my current employers aren’t letting go are no longer quite as happy either, mail came round this week saying they’ve decided that they pay over market rate for contract staff and they’re cutting the rates, mid contract, from 1st Jan by 6%, take it or leave.

Glad to hear these positive job experiences!!

One of these days I’ll have to try this…

Sucks to your ass-mar!

Just put it on Dice and made it fully public.

H.

In that case you need to watch Brick, The Lookout, and Mysterious Skin.

I’ve found that in my line of work it’s either feast or famine.

Business is business. You’re under no obligation to work for them unless you’re under contract. They can rescind the job offer at any time too, it works both ways. Tell them the truth: right now, you’re planning on taking the job. If something changes in the future, that’s hardly your fault. If the second offer comes through, use that as a negotiating tool. Tell your first company you’ve gotten another offer and see if they can provide any additional incentive to stay with them.

Yeah, it’s a tough thing to do but you really need to take your best interests and put them first here. Accept the job then see if the other one comes through with something better. Maybe it won’t and you’ll not have an issue. Maybe it will and you’ll feel a little guilty sure but in the long run you’ll be better off and it’s not like they’ll haunt you for the rest of your life. You’ll probably never interact with them again.

And you got a legit offer that quickly? Wow.

I’m scared to put my resume public because I’ve talked to some people who have said that it leads to a ton of scammy and spammy replies.

I’ve been getting spam non-stop since I dared to put a resume on Craigslist, and Monster’s been no better. I do hear nice things about Dice, but Jobing, Careerbuilder, etc. etc. all seem to be better at pushing scams and “Get your degree online!” offers than jobs.

I just found out that I get Sirius radio for free on the factory-installed radio in my car. This means Met Opera Radio! Holla!

For about a month. Then they charge you.

6 months, actually.

I just got home from my last day of the semester. Whew. Finals are next week, and then I have almost a month to lay around the house and think about things other than homework. This was my first term back to college full-time in 15 years, and I really, really need the break before spring semester.

I plan to catch up on Castle and play a lot of games with Quatoria. And sleep. Lots of sleep.
