Awesome. Definitely worthy of submission to Sketchy Santas.

That’s priceless. I must say, I’m a bit jealous of Rose, having such awesome parents. I hope you don’t mind if I use this as my X-mas desktop wallpaper.

I would make a comment about everyone quoting the giant picture over and over again, but I’d probably get shouted down since it’s a good picture and contains the child of a forum poster.

So I’ll keep quiet.

This post is worthy of this site, imo!

Good.
Love the picture (he’s also an incredible Santa compared to all the fake bearded one we get).

Well I just tried this Sensa stuff (trysensa.com) and it’s amazing. I’ve been craving sweets for forever and ever and I don’t want sweets!! I’m still amazed. I hope it lasts.

What are the listed side-effects? Maniacal shower singing and allergic reactions to the color purple?

It’s not a drug so there aren’t any listed side effects. A few people on LAtimes.com reported gas and some mild stomach upset, but at this point I’ll live with that (wearing copious amounts of perfume :)

I just found out I got A’s in all my classes. I am completely in shock about my math grade…

Grats!

This is insane. Tell me this is a joke, I don’t get how this works.

“TASTANT” crystals?

Don’t expect me to explain names :) It basically works because this neurologist found that people who couldn’t smell were far more likely to become overweight. So he developed this stuff that is supposed to change how your body perceives food. Now we’ll see, I’ll post an update in a week or two.

I really do want to know more though - He says it changes the way the body perceives (the smell?) of food, but does the food taste/smell better or different?

If I wanted to sprinkle something on my food that would make me lose my appetite I’d start with boiled cabbage.

No, it didn’t taste any different. They give you a shaker for salty food and sweet food. Those categories are pretty broad, for example you would use the salty shaker for chicken but the sweet shaker for cereal.

I used it on a bowl of cereal as a test. I love to eat cereal and it makes me fat :) Usually if left to my own devices I’d have at least two bowls at a time but I was satisfied with the single recommended serving.

I have given up on diets that deprive me of stuff as I can’t stay on them successfully. I’m also planning to use Intuitive Eating to help me lose weight. Intuitive Eating also works as a non-deprivation weight loss process.

By the way, I’m not going to defend these systems, I’m just trying them. They may work they may not. I was just so shocked not to want my nightly helping of candy that I thought I’d post about it.

That’s pretty awesome. Congrats on the progress so far!

Have you tried simply not keeping any sweets in the house? When I realized the need to lose some wait a few years ago, I cut out my Diet Coke habit and my ice cream habit overnight by banning them from my house. That, combined with getting back into regular exercise dropped the weight pretty quickly, and I didn’t have to poison myself/ruin my sense of taste to do it.

Yep, doesn’t work for me. I’m glad it worked for you. I exercise 4-5 times a week.

Just finished up a repair job on my car that was more frustrating than it ought to have been, and noticed that the middle section of my left index finger is inexplicably swollen. May have gotten bit by something and not noticed. Bizarre end to a weird night.

Got married this past Saturday. Insane stress on Friday and Saturday morning, followed by incredible relief, elation, fun, and exhaustion.
