Please. Stop the apostrophe abuse. For the children.

My nephew told me he was one of the most powerful five-year-olds in the country. Then I pushed him down and took his candy away.

Ah, student bodies. That reminds of a great story… I think.
Who was the most reviled media persona in my country, when I graduated journalism school. The bad newscaster, the hardhitting journo who sold out and became a party spindoctor or the guy who kinda sorta lied in an major newspaper?
Nope, the guy who, looking for something to write about in the school newspaper, invited the local firemarshall to our cellar pub and then wrote about our lifethreatening lack of firesafety resulting in the pub being closed for years while changing student bodies tried to raise the $50.000 needed for a new staircase…

The problem is DGS is the children. The future is bleak, but on the upside, maybe his friends can use him as a case for raising the admissions standards?

Binghampton, NY? What is that? Never heard of it.
I always thought your profile said Birmingham, as in Alabama.
You have an extra P in there. Binghamton. Crown jewel of the SUNY system. It’s a state school, but it’s also considered a public Ivy, has a management school that is ranked 12th in Public schools and 35th in the nation. Division 1 sports team that played Duke in last years tournament (not going this year because of the scandal that happened to our basketball team).
We’re not hugely insanely popular school like Harvard or Yale or Columbia or them, but we’re popular in NY.
And fuck you, I misplaced one apostrophe, because you’ve never done that.
I kind of liked Binghamton more when all I knew about them is that Tony Kornheiser went there.

35th in the nation? Goodness. Jose Liz should have gone there, that way he could afford more than Sbarros.
I’m just razzing you, I’m sure it’s a great school. For porn stars to visit.
Edit: Woo hoo! My old school is 16th!
Man, look at the top 4 schools and their cost per year:
Notre Dame (Mendoza) $38,477
Virginia (McIntire) $9,872
MIT (Sloan) $37,782
Pennsylvania (Wharton) $38,970
I love that Virginia is kicking the crap out of much more expensive schools. I have to assume that’s in-state tuition, though.
Any corruption or moral bankruptcy in student leadership has no doubt come from school leadership. If you don’t follow college basketball you may not have heard of the Binghamton basketball scandal, but it is a tragic story.
There’s a Ron Jeremy joke waiting to happen.
Also it should have been “in every position one of my friends sits”.
Forgive me! It was early, and I am slightly hungover! I don’t want to disappoint all my rabid fans here on Qt3 with improper grammar and spelling.
Are you old enough to drink now?
I’m sorry, no, it isn’t. You do your school a disservice when you oversell it. Binghamton may be a good school, but it doesn’t have a national reach, much less an international reach.
Certainly, it’s not in the same category as Cal, Michigan, UVA, UNC, or even UT Austin. If Binghamton is a “public Ivy” that’s extending the moniker to waaaay too many schools.

No, the student corruption was completely independent in this case. I’m pretty sure most of them are now in jail (for whatever idiocy they achieved after leaving the school).
Alumni of SUNY-B knew about this years before it hit the press - this was a decade in the making. The results of going to Division I were widely predicted by myself and my classmates before it was implemented, and we’ve followed the predicted, dismal results for years - higher athletic fees for a sports program that sucks away dollars from education and tarnishes our schools reputation.
My old roommate even wrote a nice piece in the P&S recently about how easily predictable this all was, and that DeFleur must be held accountable.
Nice to see it finally came true.
There’s 30 schools in Greene’s list, and Binghamton is one of them. Just because you haven’t heard of the school doesn’t mean it’s not good. I’m not the one who’s calling it that, everyone else is.
Edit: It’s considered one of the “Worthy Runner-ups” from Moll. So yeah, I guess it’s pretty official that it’s a good school.
Be true to your schoooooool, just like you would to your girrrrrrrrrl
