I went to my first opera last night (Carmen). I’d be a liar if I said that I’m sold on it, but it’s the first time I’ve seen an orchestra play for years and as a musical experience I still think a live orchestra is something pretty special.

We just got push-polled by the NRA. Unfortunately, the person who answered hung up before I could hear what Wayne LaPierre wanted. I’d love to know.

When someone calls with a survey, I give them my consulting rate and ask where to send the invoice before I allow them to utter the first question. Just happened Friday, in fact.

They tend to wish me well and hang up at that point.

I always answer, because I believe in the value of good data.

I believe my time is money and I don’t give out free advice. :)

I believe that most polls are commissioned by politicians/lobbyists or the media - since the politicians already know what they want to show, the poll is either biased or they’ll misrepresent the data, and most journalists don’t know what to do with good data or how to notice bad data. So I lie and make outrageous shit up juts to mess with them.

Was it Silverston? I knew he was trouble!

No, he’s actually quite easy. It’s Cinnamon. (I didn’t give them their names, they had them already.) That boy just likes to get all up in your grill and shake you down for mineral treats the moment you set foot in his pasture.

My wife is having her gallbladder out RIGHT NOW. Been in for an hour. Won’t know if they went laparoscopic or chop suey until she’s out. I know it’s routine and all, but I’m still chewing my nails…

Oh Gawd! Good luck to both of you, and I hope she has a safe procedure and a speedy recovery.

Good luck Acid! I’ll cross some fingers and knock on some wood.

Thanks, fellas!

Doc just called me in the waiting room. She’s fine!! They did go laparoscopic. Waiting to be invited to recovery to see her.

Glad it all went well, Acid.

DennyA likes this.

I got in an accident because the fellow in front of me decided he needed to back up at the red light. While I was there, waiting patiently.

In my wife’s car.

Whoah - so in states where you are automatically at fault in a rear-ending… what is this considered?

It would suck to have to cover his damages when he’s at fault in a practical sense.

Woohoo! Congrats! :)

If the vehicle in front rolls backwards on a hill and collides with yours because you did not leave a reasonable space between your vehicle and the vehicle in front when you pulled up behind him, you are at fault for not maintaining a safe distance.

If you did leave a safe distance, but he shoved his car into reverse and hit you, then he’s probably at fault.

I think the insurance companies will have to hash this one out between them.

Thanks, everybody!
