Is that anything like Ceiling Tom? What work of yours were they a fan of?

After 6months out I might have a job offer that actually pays the bills! Ok it’s only a 3 month contract to start with and it’s back doing VBA rather than .net but it’s a place where a 3 month contract can turn into something longer.
After months of my CV disappearing into a gaping black hole and agencies dodging my phone calls it’s really nice to have a call telling me I’m the front runner for the position. Hopefully should hear if I’ve definitely got it later today.
Crossing fingers for Nellie.

Ever considering a follow up letter with bees to those that dodge your calls?
Fibgers crossed here.

I got the contract and paying more than I originally asked for! Not by much but it all helps. Now I just need to extract a handful of angry bees from that envelope.
… and I need to uncross my fibgers (?!)

Well, it’s over my bed, so you be the judge.

I finally watched Dr. Strangelove last night for the first time ever. I was going to post about it over in the movie forum, but the thread that discusses it has been dormant for seven years and was started by Koontz, so I decided not to. ;-)
Wow. First time ever? How cool.
I’ve got a Kubrick at home from Netflix right now…but I’m afraid to watch it.

Which one? I hope it’s The Shining.
Why would anyone be afraid to watch that? Now, Eyes Wide Shut, on the other hand…
Hay, not to revisit your super-fun times with your toilet, but my wife - who is getting a PhD in microbiology and her research is on e. coli - says you didn’t have e coli. There should blood in your stool for e. coli. She thinks you had salmonella.
"May be campylobacter too but that usually isn’t as severe. Shigella is the third most common pathogen transmitted through food. In FoodNet surveillance areas in 2008, the rate of Shigella was 6.6 per 100,000 population, exceeded only by Salmonella (15.2/100,000) and Campylobacter (12.7/100,000) (CDC, 2009c).
The vomiting makes me think salmonella though, especially since he had chicken the night before."
The more you know!
I am counting down the days until my wife and I leave for Italy on Saturday. Man, I need a vacation in the worst way. Not taking a laptop or even cell phones, going off the radar entirely. Just going to enjoy the atmosphere, the history, the food and the wine.
Cool. We went to Italy in November and it was great. Where are you headed?
We’re going to Florida for a weeks vacation on Saturday. Long looking forward to this one.
We’re hitting quite a few spots. Initially flying into Rome, where we will stay for a couple of days. We’ll try to hit the big stuff, Vatican, Coliseum, all the museums we can fit in. Then we’re taking a train up to the Tuscany region, staying a few days in Siena. We’re renting a car there so we can drive around to the hill towns and explore. After that back on the train to Florence for a few days, then finally to Venice for a couple days before heading back home.
So it’s the Assassin’s Creed 2 tour, essentially. When I told my wife that all I got in return was a blank look. She tolerates my quirks.
Hah, that’s pretty much what we did. Started in Rome for a couple of nights, drove up to Tuscany for 3 nights and then Venice for 2 nights. Driving around Tuscany was an adventure, bring a good GPS.
It was a bit too TMI for me to read originally, but now that you bring it up, his symptoms totally fit my bout with salmonella - I almost went to the hospital for that, but my wife was finally able to make me take some liquid mixed with minerals, to keep my balance up and the doctor let me stay home. Only lost 12 pounds in 5 days.
