Ok, over the past week or so my right hand has had an odd tightness to it. If looking at my palm, it feels like there’s a cord that goes from the bottom left of my palm up to right about the bottom of my index finger. When I open my hand or rotate it while doing a grabbing like motion it feels like it’s taking the two ends of the chord pulling it tight (or like stretching a rubberband). It’s not exactly painful, but it definitely feels uncomfortable and like it could get painful.

Any ideas?

Carpal tunnel.

P.S. Life sucks, have to miss Fear Factory tonight.

My mother-in-law is one of these. She is, in fact, the most badass person I’ve ever met.

I hope it’s nothing serious, because I’m noticing a similar tightness in my right middle finger. Which sucks, because I’m a touch-typist, and that’s a potential 12.5% toll. Of course, maybe it’s all this typing that’s leading to the tightness in the first place.

I thought that, because it was in my hand but it didn’t really fit the description. I guess the “stretching” feeling could be tingling. I haven’t gotten the burning sensation yet. Bummer. :(

When I developed a carpal-like issue (never went to a doctor for an official evaluation), it was never a tightness or even a burning, just a continual bad pain if I was in a typing or mouse-using stance between the back end of my thumb and where the wrist starts. I wore a long brace for roughly 6 months or so and it finally went away. In the meanwhile I go an ergonomic keyboard and a better mouse. Couldn’t play FPS’s at all.

I finally took delivery of my new car - the Renault I ordered in March.
It’s a small hatchback/station wagon with the biggest diesel engine available for it’s size. It’s still a small car but pretty swift… and it’s very very green.
My first all new car (only 40 km so far) and I like it.

It’s a lease because we were sick and tired of dealing with unexpected repairs - but it seems like Renault was sick and tired of the reputation of French cars and have really upped quality, so I might have been better of buying it (their new ad tagline after ADAC ranked their new models reliance alongside Mercedes and BMW: “We’re not saying our cars are as reliable as German cars - the Germans are”).

I’m currently in the intermission for Bill Bailey, and my cheeks hurt already from laughing. Looking forward to the second half.

Where’s the ‘Hanzii envies this’-button?

All finished now. Even better, we had seats near the front due to being in the Bill Bailey fan club spamming list. My head aches from laughing too much. If you ever have the opportunity, go!

[EDIT]A couple of things in the second segment - We experienced a Kraftwerk version of “Hallelujah”, a French Discotheque version of “Cars”, featuring solos on tuned car horns, and a decidedly untuned recorder, and we were all taught the lyrics to La Bamba.

't’would be nice, but he’ll never come here. :(

Maybe Montreal, for the comedy fest, though…

Followed Garage Games (InstantAction lolz) from Eugene to Portland, finally made the move a month ago. Despite the various … issues, it’s still the most fun I ever had working, so the move had to happen. Now it’s done, and Portland is great.

Anyone looking for a house in Eugene by any chance? ;)

Oh, fell off my bike - low flying potholes at twilight are no joke. First ever ambulance ride and ER visit; nothing majorly hurt, just ample skin rash and bruises. The oh so friendly (seriously) indigenous residents of Portland downtown made the call before I even knew it. It’s been so long, I forgot how much these damn scabs itch …

Don’t scratch! You’ll get scars!

Is Portland that different from Eugene? Why the move, I wonder.

Can’t help it! I have zero resistance to this phenomenon!

Is Portland that different from Eugene? Why the move, I wonder.

First sentence explains it (the company moved) :P And yes, it really is.

Have you tried gnawing on it?

Heh. I know why YOU moved. I was asking about the company :)

Nope, nor will I try to drill holes through it.

5-6 times the population with a much larger selection of tech-savvy youth. Portland isn’t that much more expensive as well.

A guy came into where I work this morning upset because his pre-paid phone wasn’t working - it had somehow locked itself and he had already spent hours on the phone with the provider to no avail. We were trying to get him into a new phone but he was getting increasingly agitated, accompanied by loud outbursts, unhappy about how long it was taking because of his demands that we get the provider (we’re just a sales agent for cellphones) to “compensate” him for his “time and thousands of dollars lost.” At one point several managers and security came over to keep an eye on him. Let me repeat - he had a prepaid phone. There’s a protip in this experience that applies to people who are super dependent on their cell phones and about there being a reason some providers can offer unlimited everything for $45 a month and others can’t/don’t.

Oh, and a coworker called out sick. We later found out it was because her husband died last night. Sad.

I couldnt get tickets for the “homecoming” gig at Bristol’s Ashton Gate stadium, I’m very envious, he’s amazing live.
