I hope this isn’t seen as out of place. I’m mostly a lurker here but I know several people here in real life.

Last weekend was the Texas Independent Games Conference

The main attractions were keynote speeches by Greg Costikyan (Manifesto Games) and Warren Spector (Junction Point Studios). Other prominent speakers were Gordon Walton (Bioware Austin) and my personal favorite, Steve Jackson (Steve Jackson Games).

There appears to have been a less than subtle rivalry between the two keynotes.

I don’t think there was any real rivalry, and I hope my poor writing didn’t create that impression. The two keynote speakers wrote Toon together and they both certainly seemed agreeable. I suspect they’re friends trying to do different things and imagine Mr. Costikyan would love to have Mr. Spector release a game through Manifesto Games.

Hmm. Maybe you’re right.
