So I feel more like The El-G every time I post here.
I was talking with these two (unrelated!) girls on OkCupid, and it was shocking how quickly our discussion turned to country matters… and we realized that we are highly compatible in that respect, as well as seemingly compatible intellectually. So D. and I have a first date planned for this weekend… and J. and I are discussing time/place for where we should meet.
On the other hand, I was told by one girl that I’m too much like what she wants in a boyfriend; she and her current boyfriend are poly/open, but she doesn’t want to hook up with anyone whom she feels she might get emotionally attached to.
My reaction was basically “That’s funny, your profile lists you as single. You should fix that.”
I’ve also gotten some interest via a profile on a site of a slightly different nature, more akin to Facebook than to OkCupid, but more on that if something actually comes of it! It’s been years since I’ve so much as gone to a munch, and I’m bummed I missed the pre-Otakon one…
I feel more like the Cygnus in The Black Hole.

I’ve met at least a half-dozen people I was very interested in off of OkCupid. Why do I still get nervous meeting one more? Oh well, my friends think it’s cute or something. >.>

Also, my hat’s off to the lady who took probably about two and a half seconds to figure out which “site of a slightly different nature” I was referring to.

I know nothing of what you’re talking about.

But actually, I was thinking more about how it was being inexorably pulled into a giant vortex of suck, which aptly describes the current state of affairs in Ned’s dating galaxy.
So you probably don’t want to tell the class (here, at least) what a munch is? Or am I the only one who had to look it up?
A munch? As I understand it, it’s a meeting of like-minded individuals in the context of matters of mutual interest.
What’s complicated or outrageous about that?
Now I’m starting to wonder if Aaron and RepoMan have been exchanging PMs…

I’m glad I missed the post pre-edit.
All I did was add the (Qt3) in parenthesis, to clarify that I was referring to this forum in that statement.
I have one, but I’ve decided not to post it in this thread.
