Man, there is going to be some serious violence on Bourbon Street tonight, LSU fans on their own turf against Bama fans on their own (in their minds) turf? I wouldn’t want to be down there tonight unless I was on a balcony throwing beads into the brawls.

Jordan Jefferson playing the part of Slim Pickens, LSU’s BCS title chances playing the part of the bomb. Don’t forget to wave your hat and yell “Yeehaa!” son.

They’re allowed to run the ball into the endzone? Who knew?

No clock stoppage on change of possession? Or was that a first down run?

Oh, I dunno - I tried to make it about the teams, and you tried to make it about me when you wanted to evade a point I made, so you have my vote for the Mythical Trolling championship.
;-)

Bama should have won the first game against LSU, they’ve outplayed LSU even better in this game.

Then they’d have had to play Oklahoma St. and would have lost. Better to have sandbagged the first and play a team they knew they could beat. (Okay, maybe I am good at counter-trolling)

clearly the best two teams in the nation…

Nope.

boring to watch against each other…

Truer words were never spoke.

…fun as hell to watch against so called high power offense teams from other conferences.

So, why the gutless dodging of Oklahoma St? SEC Cowardice, plain and simple.

Uh, pretty sure the SEC doesn’t decide who gets to play for the MNC, so gutless dodging attack misses wildly.

You do understand that the SEC champion has beaten every team in the BCS Title game put before them in at least the last decade, this is the first time they actually had to play against each other.

From message 1702 of this thread:

KWhit: You do understand that LSU and Alabama didn’t get to decide for themselves who plays in the NC game, right?

Corsair: Oh? They campaigned for this, just as the SEC has had other campaigns in the past, such as the time Florida crept past #2 Michigan in the polls because they campaigned against a rematch of Michigan against Ohio State for the BCS title game because Michigan lost to Ohio by three points earlier in the season (sound familiar - well, beyond that was an exciting game rather than a snoozefest). And if it means anything, I’m being consistent because I was all for Florida getting that opportunity. Anyway, it seems to me that the SEC gets what it wants.

So, been there, countered that.

You do understand that the SEC champion has beaten every team in the BCS Title game put before them in at least the last decade, this is the first time they actually had to play against each other.

So? What’s your point? That they don’t actually have to play anyone else anymore? The SEC still has a hypocritical stance, a point you seem intent on dodging.

Gee some of us are actually discussing things, nice to know now from your own words that you are just being a useless troll

I bailed on that game at half.

Pretty clear LSU wasn’t going to move the ball, and everytime I checked back in, it became clearer.

I’d still say give them a split championship as they split their games and LSU had to play one more game (SEC Championship).

Whatever, BCS blows. Too bad after some fun bowl games that it came to this.

That game sucked, but I think everyone knew it would when the matchup was announced. What it also does is highlight how screwed up the system is, the number one team going into the game can’t even match the Falcons’ 2 points in their turd of a playoff game. But unlike the Falcons, who were eliminated in the wildcard round as they should have been, these guys were playing in the championship game.

Not what I expected, thats for sure. While I still oppose the idea that Alabama should have gotten the chance to play in this game, they did win in exactly the way they needed to that will silent most of the critics. So props to the 'Bama fans for another great team and there is no doubt that Saban is the best college football coach around at this point.

Now on to the revamp of the BCS!

First time I haven’t watched the “final” “bowl” game in years. Sounds like I’m glad I didn’t.

That was simply the worst I have ever seen a collegiate team play the game of football. They played so bad that not only did they not deserve to win, but LSU should be forced to give back the SEC championship and give it to Bama. And I’m an LSU fan! I live 40 miles from the campus. Never in my life was I so disgusted with a coaches plan. Les Miles stayed with Jefferson despite the evidence hitting him square in the face: Jefferson has no business being a college-level quarterback.

Worst…game…ever!

I thought Oregon would have had a better chance in their game against LSU if Jefferson hadn’t been suspended.

Lost in the stultifying ineptitude of the LSU offense was the fact that Honey Badger and the LSU D didn’t exactly light the field on fire. They never really found an answer for McCarron’s play-action rollouts, and Mathieu missed a number of tackles. If not for Bama stalling out in the red zone, that could have been a 35-point blowout.

Having watched most of the 2 LSU-Bama games I can only say that the LSU QB play was really, really bad.

Absolutely! If Jefferson had played, I bet Oregon would have won.

Such a bad game, what a let down. I guess it shouldnt have been a surprise given the first matchup, but it still was. I read that it was the least watched BCS title game ever.

LSU was terrible and Les Miles must be on drugs or have some kind of mental illness. There is no excuse for sticking with Jefferson and the same game plan after the first half.

All that said, this game was tremendous as its going to get the BCS changed. A 4 team playoff is inevitable in the short term and I have high hopes that we will see an 8 or 16 team before the end of the decade.
