That I did know. The gear was pretty crappy though (bane blade, hide shield, boots of long strides), and I didn’t figure I’d be missing it much.

There had been some minor skirmishes with Ulm earlier – I’d be curious to learn whether I managed to kill a fort construction site when I took (30) – but I interpreted Ulm’s recent attack on (12) as an attempt to get through to Tir. If that was incorrect, I probably would have been in trouble because I picked a fight with Kailasa at the other end of my realm at the same time.

You didn’t squish a fort, no. I was wondering what was up with that attack and lack of followup. As for the attack on 12 that was actually a orders snafu, plain and simple (they were supposed to sneak).

I’m glad it helped. It’s a tricky piece of the turn resolution that has cost more than a few folks their pretenders.

I want to say yes to this, since I’ve lost SC’s before when buying PD, moving on, only to get the move interrupted by an attack and having a forced retreat. I always thought any unit with moral 30+ should be immune to auto-routs like that, which would apply to most SC’s. I’m not saying they shouldn’t rout should they fail a morale check, just that it doesn’t make sense for the most powerful units in the games who have wiped out provincial armies on their own should get scared when a few militia men die.

I know the victory conditions have not formally been met yet. Besides giving tenuki the affirmation of getting four capitols, is there any reason to keep this one going? Neither Arco or Joman have deflected the Gathian horror, he now controls three capitols.

Pyrhic? Evil Steve? Do either of your nations have the ability to meet and beat him or should we just call it?

Yes, it does, it can really be a pain when trying to defend with scs.

I don’t think I should participate in the deabate, but if you could tell me the results before I sit down to make yet another late-game turn… I’d be much obliged.

I want to add that it was absolutely awesome of you guys to get your act together and mount another large-scale offense the last time we had this discussion. You really gave me a run for my money, there were several great battles, I had to make a number of tough decisions and learned quite a bit about the game (or so I like to believe).
