Set to host tomorrow with Atlantis still not having moved and the host out of town. drat.
Crooked Trunk
The map was not set with fixed starts. The victory provinces that the servers check are not the capitols that we are using as victory provinces. In retrospect this was an error on your host’s part and I do apologize. I do not think it is such an error that it demands a restart, but some of you may feel differently and I would be willing to listen.
I believe that there is no external way of exactly knowing if a nation’s capitol has been taken. Given that several non-Caelum of Un-Pan (wings are delicous) nations may not have that many scouts out there to check…I would encourage forum chatter if you are in danger of losing (or have lost) your capitol.
I would explicitly discourage the use of deception in such messages, but sometimes a dominions player has to do what a dominions player has to do. Just remember that we are a small community.
(If somebody does have a way to tell if a capitol has been taken using charts or the server…let me know)
So far, I have discovered a way to make mermen.

Anyone know how bad Insanity really is?
I am playing as MA T’ien Ch’i in Nate’s BFNEWB game and didn’t realize that 15 year reduction Alchemy ritual added +5 Instanity to my CM. The poor dude was already 16 years into the Old category and I wanted to try to save him a bit longer. Does the (5) just mean a 5% chance to randomly do something each round? Do they randomly cast damaging spells on their own army when they go off-script, or do they just cast a different beneficial spell that you didn’t really plan for? Just curious what I should expect.

When insanity strikes, your commander takes a random order for the turn that cannot be changed. Most times he’ll just do nothing (e.g., “this is not a star!”). Sometimes he’ll do something slightly helpful, like research. I don’t think insane commanders ever move or cast rituals of their own - never seen it, and I’ve had my share of insane commanders. The worst thing I’ve heard of happening is the commander destroying your lab.
You can still script an insane commander and he’ll act normally in battle if he ends up participating in one.
That’s accurate. And you are right. It’s a 5% chance to be a huge annoyance each turn. Not bad really.

Cool, that should be okay I hope.
Thanks for the feedback.

Is this map even tighter than Newbie Rumble 3?

It appears that our first dogpile is taking place.
Funny that two independent parties approached me asking if I’d jump in on a war. And not THEIR war. Good times.
operation KILL PERKINS???

sigh Wouldn’t it be awesome if a new turn file came in, like, now?
Perhaps Perkins is worried about the dog pile. I think he’s safe.

Congrats to Machaka who landed a knockout blow before I could respond.
I’ll let the board know when my sieged capitol falls.
Lotsa blessed spiders.
I suspect I won’t be taking your capital. I can’t touch your walls. And I also suspect you have allies planning to assist. I seriously doubt I’ll take it before I have to defend aggressively.

For somebody sieging a neighbors capitol with 23 fire and nature blessed spiders your a pretty suspicious guy.
Allies would be good. Any ideas on who I should ask?
I would rather be the one with suspicions occupying half my neighbors lands than the neighbor who is publicly conceding.
