Well, you did just go wipe the most powerful nation* in the game practically off the map without breaking a sweat. That tends to garner attention…

Wow, Hugin is still going on? You wanna talk about glacial.

Matt, kill me already.

Scribble has written. We can expect Sleipnir to be back up and running early next week.

What exactly is going on in the capitol of C’tis?

Your army has been sieging there for a while, with no counter from him.
Since that is the one province you own…How in the world is that army being supported?

What exactly is going on in the capitol of C’tis?

A lot of it is summoned stuff. The rest are deserting slowly but surely.

Heh. Heh. Heh. I sure hope this works.

Assassinations stopped working against the stronger targets, sadly.

Bah. Those stupid assassins weren’t even supposed to survive the patrols. Annoying as heck.

But you hope WHAT will work? And which of you two is attacking my capital??? I hope you aren’t in contact and fight over it.

Why don’t you just go away? I’m quite happy to just do my thing you know.

I wish I could find a gem site. Just one.

Why don’t you do like the others and take them? Looks like you have that plan :)

It’s my only hope, sir! My factories sit idle.

Quick, while he’s weak and gemless, kill Dave!

Awesome plan! I love it.

Fiachra is the man, and blue triangle spell is the spell.

Kill Fiachra! That stunk! Haha. Good one dfs.

And sloppy me. I thought it was empty so was careless. I rushed in without scouting.

Teh spyderz iz bak.

Teh spiders buggered off!

The populace near the gate of the city were arguing amongst themselves about the best way to try and avoid spider bites. Some folks were amongst the belief that spiders would avoid the taste of vinegar and were dousing themselves in wine that had been uncorked too long. Other, ahem, more aggressive folk, thought that rolling in the privies would keep the spiders at bay.

One old woman was trying to convince the crowd that the spiders were the least of their worries. “Those unholy shamblers are going to rip you apart long before those huge spiders are able to get through the gates.”

The green cloaked young woman was out of breath and had such a smile across her face that she looked like a maniac. The crowd did not recognize her.

“He won” she shouted at the top of her lungs. “He stood at the gate against all the spiders and shamblers, oh my!”

The crowd looked at each other and twirled their fingers around their heads while a few of them muttered “loco” under their breath and continued their preparation for defeat.

One fat old man stoped the crowd saying…“that’s Ailbe…the only remaining sacred Bean Sidthe in town.” The crowd dropped their argument and their collective jaw looking at him while the lunatic continued to rave.

“Machaka has the insanity spell.” said the lady in fear of the shamblers. “It’s the only explanation.”

The crowd was totally unprepared when the Tuathas and Sidhe Lord returned on their ponies.

Triumph? It was an odd word after so many defeats.

The celebration that night was awkward. Winning had not been on the agenda. Some folks had been rolling around in the wine and it tasted funny.
The crowd was small. The folks who had been bathing in the privies to avoid spider bites were not allowed in.

Thank you. Lucky is what it was, but I’ll take luck even though it isn’t in my scales.

My first instinct was to have them sneak out of town and leave Ailbe alone, but then I thought a last stand would fit the theme.

Honestly, staving you off another couple of turns never crossed my mind.

Oh, duh. I shouldn’t make scouting attacks from the same province… unless my interest is to learn what was in the province before the friendly movement phase.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Edit: And I even missed the battle. Double dammit.

One of dfs’s Tuathas stood in the entrance to the fort and fought a Machaka black spider for what seemed like a year and a half. The spider was caught in a blue triangle to boot.
