I had something happen that I don’t recall before.
I sent some remote attack spells that were successful at wiping out the PD of some provinces. I also had some scouts attack them the same turn figuring they would snag the provinces after the magical phase was done with the battle.
However, while my mages cast the spells first, the battles resolved later and my scouts both attacked first and got killed first. I don’t recall this happening this way, but it may have been a real long time since I have done it so perhaps it was patched in along the way sometime. It doesn’t seem like something that could be modded in like with the CBM. It has probably been like this a while?, but I just don’t remember I guess :). For reference, I have been playing since early Dom 2 days and rarely use those sorts of spells, so it could have been a real long time ago I remember it happening the way I expected.

This lesson is still pretty fresh for me: You need to have each scout attack a different province than the one he’s in. That way the fight gets resolved in the regular battles phase after hostile movement.
That doesn’t quite work, Kelan. When hidden units attack the province they are located in, the battles resolve before magic attacks like ghost riders, horrors etc. Not sure if it’s always been this way, but I can’t recall it ever working.
What does work sometimes though is attacking with a hidden unit from an adjacent province. Have it move without sneaking to the province you’re attacking with a remote spell. This will sometimes end up with your hidden unit having to do battle with the PD or troops in the province it originates from though. But because this counts as a normal move, it will execute later in the turn when remote attacks have resolved.

Ah! Good to know. Thanks for the reply.

Crooked Trunk
I was going to go back to a 48 hour timer with Pyrhic returning, but we have had our first stale. Sorry Nate.
Anybody mind if we return to a 48 hour schedule?

GAH!!! I sent in the Sleipnir turn twice. Totally thought I had sent the CT turn in. Remind me not to send in turns before I have my coffee.
Doesn’t matter, as you’re irrelevant in Crooked Trunk.

You could have stopped at the word “irrelevant.” Sleipnir is not going all that well for me either.

Speaking of irrelevant, Pangaea is cooked in CT.
Congrats Austen on your awesome rush. I totally did not have time to make counters to your thugs. Guess I should have made ench-1 my first research target, for carrion centaurs and manikin. I was planning on using demon knights instead, but I was toooo slooooow – you hit me right before my research started to take off. Nicely done.
Also, congrats Steve on capitalizing on this great opportunity to snatch a fort.

72+ hours into the current turn and only half the nations have submitted.
Are we having trouble with time or are we just lazy bastages who wait till the last minute?
I took advantage of the extended time to wait until today (Saturday), when I’d be able to play at my leisure, and that seems to be my pattern. :(

dfs played well. I made a few mistakes that made a quick and decisive war turn into a slogging war of attrition. dfs saw my mistakes and capitalized on them. At that point I should have backed out, but I felt that I needed to continue the war to be competitive. But it just made me fall farther and farther away from the leaders.
Does anyone have any experience with this?
I submitted my Crooked Trunk turn (twice now), and both times received the message:
Your 2h file seems to be for a different turn number to the one the game’s currently on. The 2h file is for turn 28, while the game is now on turn 29.
When I play my turn, the game says I’m on turn 29.

I’ve had this happen in the broken forum game I’m running. Delete all files, download the turn again, and replay it. That seems to fix it.

I’m being lazy - Im now sitting in a region way infront of GMT and it’s making me feel like the deadline is impossibly far away. I’ll submit tomorrow…
Replay the entire turn I just scripted? Ffffuuuuuuuuuuuu–
Is this really what I have to do? Can anyone slap Nate around a bit and save me a half hour of replaying my turn?

So I gave my pretender an extra air gem to save some fatigue when casting Storm, so that he could cast Army of Gold next and turn my pile of sea dogs into some semblance of a meatwall.
He didn’t use the gem, did not cast AoG, and what I’d hoped to be a halfway respectable last-ditch effort to save my nation played out as a simple massacre of my dudes.
RIP Atlantis, and congrats Scribble! I got schooled.
