Anyone know of any discussions on mod nation balance issues? There are a few mod nations that sound neat that I’d like to try, but I’d hate to pick something that’s horribly overpowered.

Mods by Sombre are solid. We’ve tested them extensively. Avoid Amos mods. They are generally broken. I’d stick with Sombre mods. He’s got a superb sense of balance. You get major bonii and major weakness. It’s fun. Kianduatha also puts a lot of time into getting balance right. Mod nations with his stamp of approval are solid.

If you have specific nations in mind just shoot. I can poll the player base on Invisions. Itza, ogres. Those are solid. Fun and odd but balanced.

And this is why I backed off from that war.

Austen has broken down the walls of my capital. A relief army is racing to relieve the besieged defenders, but it’s going to be a vicious battle. Best of luck on the battlefield, sir.

I have pondered a bit on mod nations for our upcoming game. Have decided on the following three nations that seem quite balanced and are in line with the other nations in the Middle Era.

Arga Dis (a strong blood nation with sparta-inspired heavy infantry)
Al-Nadim (1001 nights inspired nation with camels, dervishes and efreets)
Pythium, the Second Empire (alternate version of MA Pythium without hydras)

I’m going to proceed with rolling nations for everyone. With a total of 23 MA land nations to draw from and seven players, there’s no guarantee any of these 3 mod nations will get played of course.
