Just thought I’d mention that if you have enabled VP marked capitals, then VP’s are automatically enabled as the victory condition (with the default set at 2 VP’s). AFAIK, you can’t have VP marked capitals without enabling the VP victory setting. (this is what happened in your QT3 RAND game). Also, the game automatically ends once a player captures the required number of VP’s, meaning you can not add on a “hold for X turns” sub-requirement if VP’s are enabled.
But there is a workaround if you want to use VP marked capitals with a “capture Y capitals and hold for X turns” victory condtion. Which is to enabled VP marked capitals (obviously), and then set the required number of VP’s to win as high as possible (which will be the same as the number of nations in the game). This way someone could still win instantly by capturing all the capitals, but if someone was that powerful, then there’s likely no arguments that they couldn’t hold Y number of those for X turns if they needed to. And in practice the game will never end in a VP victory (at least not long before someone met the “hold Y capitals for X turns” requirement. Just as long as Y isn’t equal to the total number of nations in the game.)
(apologies if all this is known and taken into account for the settings of “Kill Scribble”. But the llamaserver doesn’t have any way to check victory conditions, and I always make a note of mentioning the above whenever I see a game running with the “capture and hold for X turns” victory condition. As it could save a lot of wasted time if some erroneous settings were to result in a premature end to the game. Plus most people are not aware that you can not have VP marked capitals without enabling VP’s as the victory condition, so thought I’d point that out as well just in case.)
Wow, Calahan is right. I never figured from the last time that the reason it ended that way was that VP victory would be automatically enabled just by having VPs in capitals.
Sounds like we’re going to have to do a restart, thanks a lot for noticing this Calahan - didn’t even occur to me to check that it was correct.
Kill Scribble
I’m off to bed now but will reboot the game in the morning. If anyone wants to take a stab at fixing the province connections, feel free.

Yeah, this is pretty much how the problem that was seen in QT3RAND occurs in most cases. In that the admin enables VP marked caps, not because they want VP’s as the victory condition, but they just want the capitals marked. But without realising it enables VP’s as the victory condition.
Also, in case you don’t know, you won’t need to re-create the game either. Just use the “Unstart the game” option in the admin menu, and then change the game settings once it’s back in the “Waiting for Pretenders” stage. (Edit - although IIRC, once the game is back in the “Waiting for Pretenders” stage, you might want to quickly change the settings so that it won’t start automatically once all the Pretenders have been sent. Because I know on some occasions, when you unstart a game, if you don’t do anything then it will automatically restart after a few minutes because all the Pretenders have been sent, and the game is still set to auto-start. This was some time ago though, so not sure if llamabeast has fixed this problem since then. But as before, thought I’d mention it just in case it saves some time and hassle.)

Oddly enough that is NOT one of the fixes I made for the Crooked Trunk map, but I think you’re correct that the map implies a connection should be there.
…I don’t know if the starting locations are fixed. If so…it strikes me that starting in 81/86/91 is vastly preferable to starting in 9/42/26/100.
Kill Scribble
The game has been rebooted.

Caelum has nothing left that can dislodge Vanheim, and is willing to concede if others feel similarly.

Tenuki seems to be the worlds hope.

Having started in 42 as Caelum, I’ll agree that it has problems. Chief among them is its lack of access to plains. Almost all of the nearby surrounding territory is mountainous, or forested and if the RNG (i assume populations are random) gives you low populations in the few non-mountainous places you do have, gold will be hard to come by.

Sucks to be the world then. XD
Will make deadline.

Huh. Apparently I missed all the fun. Turn coming this evening, sorry for the delay.

Crooked Trunk
Please submit one more turn.
Austen is under siege in his own capitol. Perhaps, Evil Steve has a way to make things continue.
The final battle at Eriu was so thrilling, it put me to sleep.
No, it literally put me to sleep. Those crazy ladies may not rout, but they don’t cause any damage either.
I"m not going to jinx this one by talking about what a good game it was and such.
My spells in the Eriu battle were so pathetic compared to Austen’s. I cast Legions of Steel and Soul Slay, and he cast Antimagic, Fog Warriors, Arrow Fend, etc. etc. When I saw that, I didn’t even watch the rest of the fight!
Or are you talking about a battle that just happened, between Tenuki and Austen? I haven’t seen the turn yet.

Yes. Yes. and Ok.
The other interesting one was the Caelum/Van battle last turn where both sides cast fog warriors on the first turn. Those undead that Van are using seem particularly stout. Tenuki cast banishment 4 bazillion time each turn and pretty much nothing happened.
Would have liked to have seen what happened with the Pythian angel at the Van capitol, but scouting apparently wasn’t in our last budget.

Just have a sec or I would comment more… but my walls aren’t damaged in my cap so there will be no storming…
We can certainly do another turn if you want, but I won’t be losing a cap next turn as none can be stormed.
Ninja Edit: Where did we both cast fog warriors?
wahoo

are you mictlanin scribble? Take your turn please.

If you were to check about 4 posts up, or check the game status on Llamaserver you would quickly see that Nate is Mictlan and has not played his turn yet.
Thanks for taking a moment to come by and throw out curt demands tho!

You can’t rush perfection, wahoo. Even on turn one. SO SIMMA DUN NAOW!
Two turns submitted to make you smile.
I think not - unless someone has a ‘wall crumbler’…
But I will submit, then submit

Last turn didn’t you and Caelum both cast fog warriors at Shin’s capitol? I thought you did and it was kind of cool.
Please DO submit that final turn. I like to have things all complete-like.
