pyrhic, perhaps rather than having a watcher nation, you could inspect turn files periodically and make your announcements in thread here? Think having one nation that doesn’t expand and just sits there provides a big advantage to its neighbours, especially in a no-diplomacy environment.

Note also that your watcher nation could easily get domkilled, since it will only ever have one temple.

I like the idea, but imagine the work involved. I find hosting and trying to update maps and graphs a pain for my BF game. I think you’d find the balancing ridiculously tedious.

Scribble has a point about the watchdog nation dying out. Could we all send turn files to pyrhic every 6 months or so? Relying on people to remember to do so could be problematic.

What if instead of a watcher nation, pyrhic rotates taking a turn for each nation and provides a state of the world update every ‘round’?

I figured maybe you were going on a long tour with your band or something :).

I am ready whenever you guys are for the new game. I am off today, so if you come up with a map later, please let us know so I can get some testing in before work tomorrow. Work schedules have shifted to help give weekend coverage so I am now on Sun-Thu at work so hoping to get a little time in game prep today if possible.
