I don’t have a better map in mind, but it seems to me that several of these maps will give the dual nature of LA atlantis with sailing and underwater troops an enormous advantage.

Given how the best mapmakers use seas to create terrain and the fact that we probably do want a wraparound map, I don’t know that there is a way around this problem. I can’t seem to quickly locate a map that that I like that is 5% water instead of around 10%.

Hmm, those are good points. I remember playing on the Steamlands map in Sleipnir against Marignon and Atlantis and thinking I could be hit from all sides all the time. Still, it is part of the game and things are about as balanced as you can expect from such a complex game.

It is up to you all, but I am fine with keeping them in.

Right. I’m not trying to take them out. I LOVE me some LA Atlantis and nothing would make me happier than getting another crack at playing them in a multiplayer game.

I’m just thinking that when you look at the maps…remember that they are in the game and they will get under water quickly and pretty much be able to strike most of the map.

Streamlands is a bit large. Much prefer Roaches.

If Atlantis is in, then Roaches would be better.

Atlantis will have an advantage as the only nation at home in the water. Agartha is not going to cancel that out at all - LA Agartha has no recruitable amphibian units and will not realistically get into the water until they get to their mid-game summons.

Not sure if the advantage is so big that they should be removed though. If we find a map without too much water that should be okay.

  1. Keep Atlantis in the pot and play one of the suggested maps? If so help Pyhric out and say which map.

  2. Throw Atlantis out of the pool and play one of the suggest maps? Evil Steve selects another nation and you need to say which map.

  3. Suggest an alternate map.

I’m really in the 3 camp, but unable to find a map that I would like to use. Since my searching abilities are failing me and I’m not going to create a new map anytime soon. I’ll have to go with option 2 above …throw atlantis out. Let Evil Steve select an alternate LA land nation …with map Streamlands.
