I remember reading that AAR and being horrified about how people were going AI and it seemed to be an accepted way to play. The author of the AAR even egged his neighbour to go AI at one point.

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too, since going AI without even trying to find a sub, seems to be haram in all of the Dom3 communities I’ve come across.

IIRC, the guide doesn’t use CBM, but reading it still gave me a lot of useful pointers.

What settings are we using, though? I’ve come to realise that that may be important to factor in, when creating a pretender. What about maps?

Also, if we’re splitting into two teams, and playing two seperate games, is there any reason why the same nation can’t be used in both games? I’m mainly asking out of curiosity, since I got to pick first anyway. :)

The five Player game will use a map called Five Lands and the six player game will probably use Six Lands if I can’t find anything I like more. Details to come when the games are set up.

And you’re perfectly right of course, there is no reason why there couldn’t be duplicate nations in the two different games. I just thought doing a draft this way would add more tension to the pregame period, and it was fun the last time we did it.

Hmm. I’ve played Yomi, the Japan equivalent, in an EA game. I played Shinuyama, the Japan equivalent, in a MA game. That pretty much seals my nation for this game!
