Go right ahead, I will do my best to answer.

VPs are provinces with a crown symbol on them. In the upcoming games, only the nation capitals will have such symbols. The first player to control three such provinces for both games is the winner. To control a VP province it is not sufficient to be besieging the fortress on it, you have to control the fortress.

  1. Are there common Pretender designs in SP that simply don’t work in MP? Like SCs or Rainbow Mages or bless strategies?

The vast majority of MP pretenders will be in one of those categories, or a hybrid of different ones. It’s also possible to create a pretender whose main purpose is being able to cast a particular spell (for LA Ulm for instance you might want someone who can summon vampire counts), but such pretenders will typically also be either a rainbow or an SC.

  1. I think CBM changes some spells - is there a way to output a spell list to be viewed outside of the game?

Unfortunately, not that I know of. There is an item guide bundled with the latest CBM which lets you see the forging requirements for all the different items, but not so much for spells. Trial and error (preferably in test games) seems to be the only way.

There is a txt file in the mod that has many(most, some?) of the changes. i had to paste it into excel to read it well…

@dfs: Thought so. It’s all in the body language, you know? Eyes straying to the left when you wrote your denial. You really wanna watch that. :p

I’ve been debating working on excel files for this game for about a year now. I might make it a summer project. Of course, I said that last year too.

I did everything but out and out say…“I’m going to try and punch you in the nose now,” so it’s a good thing you are not shocked. It was not my intent to execute a complete surprise attack.

…Not to put too fine a point on it, but I really didn’t have a choice. The notion of going through Patalla in order to try and create a war with Arco is really pretty comical and it’s my only other choice. You and arco are certainly far ahead of everybody else, it’s time to find out if you are far ahead of me.

It’s past turn 50, This game needs fights, not MORE turtleing. I look forward to crossing blades with you. The next 10 turns should be fun. Good luck.

I’ve noticed he does tend to give a lot of these ‘body language’ statements…

I’ve made an excel sheet that’s pretty much my essential tool. However, what i reference isnt that - i just couldnt read the wall of text from the readme file until i dropped it in excel, which was able to read the linebreaks and position them accordingly…

It’s hard to properly plan without knowing who I’m up against. Steve!!! Stop being so evil and pick already ;)

ulm for me

WOOHOO!!! Vamping it up, I see.

i was hoping to get c’tis after your demonstration in 666 ;)

I suspect this is going to be a colossal error in judgement, but Mictlan for me.

Gentlemen, that concludes the draft.

The Late Era games Hugin and Munin will be played with standard settings, except for strength of independents which will be set to 7.

The victory condition is controlling three capital provinces (forts included).

Timer will be on 48 hours with no quickhost, to start with. We will move to 72 hours if there is player consensus.

As always, banned exploits include copying Bogus’ orders, trying to mess up enemy movement with throwaway armies, overfilling enemy labs with crap items to prevent forging and The Ankh/Life After Death shenanigans.

As a general rule, do not go AI without talking to me first. The only situation I consider that acceptable is if all your forts are under siege and you have no fighting material left that could inflict damage to your enemies. If you need to get out of the game due to RL reasons or loss of interest, then we try to find a sub before flipping the AI switch. Fight to the end, that makes for a more enjoyable game for all.

We will use the mod CBM 1.92, which can be downloaded from here: http://forum.shrapnelgames.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=11322&d=1316193829

The game Hugin will be a five player game played on the map Five Lands, which can be downloaded from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?5jeh8h3rbjht5m4

The following nations will be in Hugin:
Atlantis, played by Brooski
Abysia, played by Nate
C’tis, played by Matt Bowyer
Ulm, played by Evil Steve
T’ien Ch’i, played by dfs

The game Munin will be a six player game played on the map Realm of Rampaging Rhinos, available from here: http://nikita.tnnet.fi/~elmokki/rampagingroaches.zip

The following nations will be in Munin:
Arcoscephale, played by Austen
Bogarus, played by Nikolaj
Mictlan, played by sharaleo
Jomon, played by pyrhic
Midgard, played by Dave Perkins
Utgard, played by farfrael

The aim is to start both games next weekend, you’ll have the week to tinker with a pretender design.

Thanks so much for organizing, Scribble! And for not playing! And for putting all of my best “friends” in the other game!

…overfilling enemy labs with crap items to prevent forging…

I am not familiar with this one, how does it work?

At some point in the lategame you might have a lot of crap items lying around that you don’t see a need for. If you send them to other players, they will arrive in their labs before their (actually useful) items they forged that turn. If their lab is filled up completely by your crap first, their own forging won’t happen at all.

I don’t foresee these games even getting to a stage where this exploit would be relevant, but might as well mention it.

Beware of the Perkins, he is good and knows his stuff!

I guess pyrhic and I are not destined to go to war on turn 5.

Shoot. I was hoping Mictlan would fall to me. Blood and odd dominions spread and all those sacreds…and we’re not even on the same map for me to see them.

boo-hoo.
