Dave: Barbarians tend to wither and break in the face of concentrated missile fire, but always seem to end up dealing a lot of damage in melee due to their relatively high attack rating and high damage weapon.

Although fear, awe, luck, and high defense do fairly well against them as well. Go SC!

Well, it works until they manage to swarm and sneak a hit in that causes a Never Healing Wound. Or puts out your cyclop’s only eye.

Also, skelli-spamming with Sauromancers demolished them with no losses.

Thanks for the replies!

I like how he pretends not to know the answer already.

I really don’t!

Is the learning curve on Dom 3 as hard as I’ve heard it is? Always wanted to try this one…

I’ve been playing since 2002 and still don’t really know how barbarians work.

You mean how they work in role-playing terms?

Look buddy. I’m gonna oratory you in a second!

It’s not so much a curve, as a gentle slope to infinity, all the while friends and wellwishers are encouraging you by paddling your ass with unpolished paddles.

I cast Magic Missle!

You sure we’re playing the same game?

The learning curve is steep, but the learning was (is) a lot of fun for me. I’ve still got a lot to figure out in this game. You can put some serious time into testing things and researching strategies and such. Half of the fun comes during pretender design, which is where most people (myself included) go horribly wrong in the beginning, from what I’ve seen.

I’m saying the same thing, only a little differently.

Nothing gentle about that slope :)

you ever been ass-paddled up a slope to infinity? Gentle is not necessarily a quality…

There is a demo.

It took me several tries to make it through the interface and figure out basics. I set it down in frustration several times before things started clicking.

Then I started getting toasted in multiplayer games.
In terms of dollars spent and time played, dominions2 and 3 are by far the best value in my game library. I still learn things with every game I play.

I understand it certainly isn’t for everyone.

Clearly, the Entity who assigns custom titles is asleep at the wheel.

Matt and dfs are hanging back as of turn 3, it seems. Bruce, Steve and I managed to take a province.

Matt leads in the Dominion category (scary awake pretender!), while dfs is blowing all of us out of the water with that ridiculous income and largest army.

An interesting start to a game that is most likely going to be determined by who expands the fastest!

This updates reads like the Pravda!
