Actually, it helps quite a bit. I need to see if there is a summary of what the mod does to see if I need to adjust any strategies or what to look out for. I am off to download and install it now and see how it goes.

I believe that CBM is doing the exact opposite by lowering the cost of Gift of Reason from 20 N to 6 N.

Love to see that.

Dunno. I think both are interesting choices in the game; the problem is excessive synergy with tarts. Why not start with CBM as a base and up the cost of Tartgate to, say, 20 gems? 25?

That’s what makes me a fan. Clams are a damn time bomb because of Wish, and you can’t take them away from a nation by conquering some of its lands. The way I see it, they virtually force you to wipe out nations with clamming potential and competitive research in longer MPs because you can’t know when they start wishing for gems and make loads and loads of everything.

Maybe it’s just my bad luck, but two of the three MPs I played in were won by the nation who started clamming first, and the third one revolves around the same topic, if cast in a slightly different light.

The W and N suits could use some love though.

Agreed. Here I think QM did a pretty good job with adjusting forging costs and introducing the slightly expensive but also very good Earth Ring.

I’ve come to like strong indies. They highlight the army scripting minigame, which gets drowned out by the magic noise in later stages. Expanding efficiently by recombining your various breeds of recruitable mook has a nice learning curve in itself, especially in LA. (Unless you’re Atlantis. Hello, Nate!) Strong indies make the climb a little more worthwhile and the game more varied IMO.

Jomon, Arco, TC, I’m getting out of (25). You three duke it out.

Yeah. I’ll take that under advisement.

For those not in spring lion. Tenuki (as Gath) just rolled over Joman (that would be me) with a slight assist from TC and Arco. Last turn Gath sent a couple of very nicely kitted out mages into 25 onto one of my armies which they obliterated without breaking a sweat. TC and Arco are next door with very, very large armies.

I hate late game wars in my territory.

If only you had really gotten involved in an early war instead of just barely dipping your toes in…

…then he’d have you clawing at his territory as well?

it’s all yours arco

:)

your lovin’ bro, chi

Nothing can be given away from posting graph screenshots, right? I thought an update on QT3RAND might be in order, but wanted to make sure before I post some pics.

yeah. I should have hammered into you instead of making nice.

spilt milk and all that.

CBM actually addresses this. Gift of Reason no longer works on undead. There is a special spell that works like GoR on undead but it costs 20 N. I think shattered soul has been increased to 30 as well for tarts. So there has been a serious attempt to bring them in line - guess we’ll see if it was enough.

I don’t see the harm, since the score graph is public anyway on llamaserver.

Well in that case, without commentary, here is the lay of the land in QT3RAND.

Interesting…

Apologies for the lack or resize…

Hmm, this Lanka nation looks pretty cool. I think I will try those out first! I am amazed at all of the things they can do from the looks so far. Should be interesting.

It looks like Blood Hunting got nerfed quite a bit in CBM? You can only have one Dousing Rod? I suppose that could get pretty powerful with unlimited ones of those.

Wow - there are some folks seriously ignoring research in that rand game.

I like how wiggly the province lines are.

Ah. I no longer believe it then.

Additional correction: I did not play in three but in four MPs so far. RAND must’ve slipped my mind. Trauma and all that.

Do you know which spell that is? I’m playing another CBM game, and my research is aiming straight for tartarians, so hearing that GoR doesn’t work is kind of disappointing. :)
