I’m plenty furious with what we already know the Russians did. There’s no doubt that the constant drip of DNC and Podesta emails took up a ton of news bandwidth and cost votes. And the army of internet spammers and bots. And employing General Flynn, paying Paul Manaforte, setting up meetings with Trump’s children during the election, and so on.
I guess I wouldn’t mind seeing a standard of spot audits in any election to give confidence. I am a tiny bit worried that if the Russians went so far already, could they really have gone that last step? The evidence is not convincing so it does not seem likely, but we may as well make sure. And continue pushing for better voting machines etc.

I just think that it’s horrifying that we’re so divided along partisan lines that one side cheers or, at best, turns a blind eye to Russia interfering with a Presidential election. I mean take a step back and think about that for a bit. The electorate is so Blue Team vs Red Team that election tampering by a foreign power is barely a blip on the news feed. Meanwhile, emails!

Just because some people have run an analysis and said that when you correct for race and education level, nothing particularly jumps out. Not that it proves it didn’t happen but there’s no obvious sign. It’s certainly worth making sure though.

There is currently zero evidence of actual election tampering. The reason the Russians wouldn’t have gone that far, is because it is infinitely harder than what they did thus far.
But hey, if Looney Stein wants to pay for recounts and crap, go nuts.
Yeah, thus is a good time to remember that Stein is a crazy person who doesn’t appear to understand anything about how government works.
It’s a nice dream, but theres no reason to think this will change anything.

Money would be better spent given to the ACLU.
I wonder how much of her desire to do so is based on the “Oh, no - if Johnson and I didn’t run, maybe Trump wouldn’t have won” kind of gut feeling. Which is not entirely rational, of course (somebody else would have run in their stead, and it’s not inconceivable that they would have been notably better candidates than Johnson and Stein), but understandable.

So it is interesting to me that there already seems to be some tangible evidence things were not… correct.
One county in Wisconsin, Outagamie County (next to Green Bay), had what they called a ‘counting error’ that resulted in the number of ballots for the presidential election to surpass the total ballots cast. That, when going over, reduced Trump’s margin there by 1600 votes (out of about 100k total votes cast in the county).
They updated their official tally on November 22nd, and I actually went over the official voting records for the county, publically available, and saw the difference.
1600 vote swing.
In one county.
Now I was initially dismissive of the whole ‘audit and recount’ move but… there may actually be something to this. At the very least we have some evidence that the counting was wrong in at least one county.

Like I said, if Stein wants to push it, so be it. It’s the best way for it to happen. Clinton can’t push it herself without making stuff a bigger mess, but Stein is already a nutjob with garbage for a reputation.
So hey, go for it. If there’s something there, so be it. There will be a huge mess if something actually turns up.
